Glitter
I, with the eyes of a child
have watched rain drops
tumble down staircases
and mountains
I, with the eyes of a child
have watched butterflies
dance to wind chimes
and branches shiver
from honest winters
I, with the eyes of a child
have watched snow angels
fly into the heavens
and listened to dust spiral into infinity
like a halo, on a mote of grass
etched softly on the landscape
of a playground
I, with the eyes of a child
are left empty
in the forgiving past
of what once was
spontaneous

Below The Train Tracks
Calm winds blow
From the east, to west coast
As rail roads freeze over
their rusted skin
Desolate, hum
(Birds chirping)
Wooden fibers snap
under the steel tracks
Beneath the belly cracks
of the behemoth
(Birds chirping)
Rush of movement
(Loud boom)
Its’ sudden pass
Miles an hour
A deafening shiver
Tickled senses
Forgotten,
swept
below the train tracks
(Silent)
