A while back, I recieved a kick-ass gift in the form of a Canon Rebel T1i. I love the shit out of it, it takes great pictures and video. But the problem with it is that it lacks an audio-output, forcing me to use built-in mic to record audio for videos, and that mic picks up EVERYTHING, naturally.
What are my options here? I don't want to just up and sell my camera, I'm pretty attached to it, it's amazing in all other aspects, plus it was a present so there's that. Are there any external audio recorders that can be used to shoot movies? The ones I find are for use as personal log recorders and such.
I've heard you can crack them open and install a jack yourself (I don't want to, I'm fairly good with soldering and stuff, but when it's for something this expensive, my hands get shaky) but the audio quality is poor and records in mono. So I'm avoiding that.
Only other option is to record audio with a separate device and sync them later.

Yes, I KNOW, read my post please. I want to know what kind of audio recorder to use that's high quality and appropriate for movie use.
