'Lesbian', 'Gay', 'Bi', 'Transgender' and 'Straight' are no accepted as labels for all of the Xbox live profiles allowing gamers to openly identify with their orientations. "I'd like to announce an update to the Xbox LIVE Terms of Use and Code of Conduct which will allow our members to more freely express their race, nationality, religion and sexual orientation in Gamer tags and profiles," Marc Whitten wrote on Microsoft's official Xbox 360 site. Previous policy refused use of these references as there was concern that they may be used to discriminate or hurt other users. User feedback indicated that it would be desirable for this to be changed and Microsoft listened.??A meeting with the Gay and Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation (GLAAD) helped make this move possible. It is a positive step when Microsoft shows such a well thought out move, taking care to ensure that such changes are positive. GLBT groups are confident that this will signal a change in gaming trends and help bring close to the instances of homophobia that occur in the gaming community.
they should censor kid's voice from microphones please microsoft please
TransgenderBlackMan Thats what I am going to make
that's good for LGBT groups, but what about BLT groups? I'm sick of being persecuted online for my choice of sandwich
Well, I never get tired of expressing my love for tittas. :3 LET IT BE KNOWN TO THE WORLD!
doesn't this mean people can go "fuck da gays!!!" on their profile too?
that's good for LGBT groups, but what about BLT groups? I'm sick of being persecuted online for my choice of sandwich
PBJ has been a long practiced traditional sandwich, and that's how it should remain
doesn't this mean people can go "fuck da gays!!!" on their profile too?
yeah
The Gay Melon
Why would people just throw it out there? Would save all the trouble.

This should end well, I bet they'll be someone trying to sue Microsoft after their gamertags something like xXSupaLesbianXx and they get abuse hurled at them.
Now all they need is an audio spectrum analyzer that runs during the registration of the system to verify the player is permitted to use the mic.
Now all they need is an audio spectrum analyzer that runs during the registration of the system to verify the player is permitted to use the mic.
Apparently Microsoft was looking into doing something like that.
Apparently Microsoft was looking into doing something like that.
That should have higher priority, then this bullshit. Same with ValVe, I'm tired of kids micspamming.
Apparently Microsoft was looking into doing something like that.
I would feel compelled to drive up to Redmond and shake someone's hand, buy loads of unnecessary software and merchandise, and compliment them on what a great and useful program songsmith is if they implemented that.
I claimed the name "biggayblackman"
Well I guess some people are GLAAD to hear that.
Goddamnit you beat me to it. Incoming clocks.

Atleast they banned straight aswell. In the C&C games after Generals you couldn't say "Islam" or "Muslim", but "Christian" and "Christianity" was fine.
What would anyone want to put their race/sexuality/etc. in their gamertag in the first place? That's like putting your favorite limericks on your resume.
About time, this was a stupid idea from the start.
What would anyone want to put their race/sexuality/etc. in their gamertag in the first place? That's like putting your favorite limericks on your resume.
How is it anything like that?
If someone feels the need to publicly announce their sexual preference, they're dumbasses anyways and deserve to be ridiculed. Nobody gives a shit.
Well it sucks that my 360 RROD'd.
Well, they had a game named GRID, so no wonder it was popular with homosexual people...
And why is showing off that you like dicks in your ass a necessity on an online community?
ITT: "people who announce their sexuality are dumb so announcing that you're gay should be bannable"
ITT: "people who announce their sexuality are dumb so announcing that you're gay should be bannable"
I agree that it should be allowed, however how many people put that they are straight in their profiles? I've yet to see a gamertag that declares that they are heterosexual, but hey if there are some I'll leave it alone.
ITT: "people who announce their sexuality are dumb so announcing that you're gay should be bannable"
No one said it should be bannable. But announcing your sexuality is stupid. That'll increase your chances of being laughed at, made fun of, or bitched out online. It's like asking to be called out. Then these people are SURPRISED when they get made fun of. It's common sense.
