• A woman's skin peeling to show her skull

Here's something I made in graphics class, all the other people were blown away by it so I wonder what facepunch thinks of it. The one thing I dont like the blood around the peeled off skin, can someone maybe post a tutorial on how to improve it, or tell me how. No "dat sux" posts please. If you're wondering what's up with the eye, it's the eye of a pigeon and the girl is some random model I found.
The pupil is too big. imo
looks really nice mate, however i dont like how the eye is scaled in itself the pupil is too big, maybe its intentional but thats just my opinian, otherwise well done.
Yeah, I made the pupil big since she's not exactly human. I didnt make the pupil either, it was from a pigeon, so I guess pigeons have big eyes, thanks a lot for the comments.
It's not that great, to be honest. To improve, you should make the skull less "clean" and bloody it up. (DON'T SIMPLY CHANGE THE HUE TO RED)
The skull is not proportioned right. -Eye socket is way to large -Nose hole is way to large -Nose is off-center and to low down -Cheek lines from the skull aren't positioned right on either side -Eyebrow line on the skull side isn't angled the same as the skin side
If you're wondering what's up with the eye, it's the eye of a pigeon.
Thats whats up with the eye :l
Well I cant exactly find this woman's actualy skull on short notice
Doesn't have to be her skull, you could have used the tools more and made it fit perfectly, takes time.
If I were to remake it I would probably use the liquefy tool, thanks for the tip man.
The skin peeling is awful it looks like you took the eraser tool and erased some parts and took a red brush and smudged it all over the edges you erased the skull is also facing in the wrong direction since her head is slightly facing the left while the skull is face right there is also random blurring around her, but that's probably because you tool the eraser and then erased around her
the skull and bloody parts are terrible, it doesn't look like it fits at all.
Man, if this is what they consider great in graphics design I guess I will take it next year. EASY A FOR THE WIN.
It's my first year of graphics, you people have standards of the pros :\
Looks really gimmicky, but everyone has to start somewhere.
I clicked this thread expecting to get grossed out but instead I found silly and poorly done photoshop.
I clicked this thread expecting to get grossed out but instead I found silly and poorly done photoshop.
Oh woe is you.
There are so many errors in this picture it's sad. To start off, "nosehole" is too much to the right. Looking at the skeleton jaw, the lips are madly misplaced. Pupils are very big. Shading on the skull is not the same as on the females head. If her face is peeling off, why is there no blood on the actuall skull? The blood around the skinparts is horrible. There's more, but I don't feel like wasting too much time here.
wow, a lot of art critics in the house, eh?
It's my first year of graphics, you people have standards of the pros :\
No, it is called constructive criticism. Without it you will never develop better skills, sure this is "okay" but it needs work. Always take criticism with a grain of salt. You learn from mistakes, and your skills WILL get way better. It is good that you have people so brutally honest, even if it might hurt or bother you. But at least you will learn and be able to improve. Don't get me wrong, it is better then what i can do. I only use Lightroom for light editing and processing of my photography. So this is better then what i can do in photoshop.
It's my first year of graphics, you people have standards of the pros :\
if you don't want CC don't post it on FP, show it to all your school friends who don't know anything about computer graphics/design
That skull was too big to begin with, you should've resized it to fit her head before you started retouching. [editline]07:21AM[/editline] If you plan on becoming a graphics designer in the future and your client say to you "I don't like these colours together" would you tell him to not expect much from you because you're new in the business? I wouldn't hire you.
Skull looks weird, eyes are too big.
skull is a bit too big IMO
And whats wrong with the shadows? That would be some crazy ass lighting irl.
Wow they think that is amazing? What are you using there,MSpaint?
There's a big difference between schoolmates and facepunch users, most schoolmates know little to nothing about photoshop (save the nerdier ones) so it's easy to impress them, you should've seen the shitty flash games I pumped out in one class that people were so impressed with.
Are you in a High school or a College graphic design class? I think it's good for a first attempt. Anytime someone starts something new it's not going to be perfect, so a skull being too big isn't that big of deal right now. I'm sure the next time you attempt something like this it will be even better. keep it up!
I saw this as a tutorial before on I think pixel2life.
