So this is basicly on of about 20 props that will go into an instalation for my GCSE art, its still not finished but so far has cost around £25 worryingly. Its started out as a very old grey light gun from an awesome projector game that i broke (oops). Its an attempt to make something inspited by Steampunk (which i love) i realy hope i havnt failed. C&C please. If its shit you can still save it! Initial Black undercoat. [img_thumb]http://dl.dropbox.com/u/8557473/FP%20stuff/DSC00080.jpg[/img_thumb] Second coat- Warhammer gun metal. [img_thumb]http://dl.dropbox.com/u/8557473/FP%20stuff/DSC00083.jpg[/img_thumb] Given the Victorian copper upgrade. [img_thumb]http://dl.dropbox.com/u/8557473/FP%20stuff/DSC00086.jpg[/img_thumb] Given the 'Scratched to shit' upgrade. [img_thumb]http://dl.dropbox.com/u/8557473/FP%20stuff/DSC00088.jpg[/img_thumb] [img_thumb]http://dl.dropbox.com/u/8557473/FP%20stuff/DSC00089.jpg[/img_thumb] Working ACOG ++. [img_thumb]http://dl.dropbox.com/u/8557473/FP%20stuff/DSC00092.jpg[/img_thumb] Its not finished by any means i plan on adding more pipes and some cogs and all that hulla baloo. But yeh C&C please :) *Hum, Stiff Little Fingers on the ipod :D *UPDATE* [img_thumb]http://dl.dropbox.com/u/8557473/FP%20stuff/DSC00100.jpg[/img_thumb] Dont wory, the duck tape isnt staying that colour. but yes added some pipes and hopefuly gave it more of a matalic feel. Keep sugesting stuff to improve on. Thanks.
They work. Looks cool, but the paint is overdone.
[QUOTE=joost1120;25751794]They work. Looks cool, but the paint is overdone.[/QUOTE] Anything i should do? i.e. sandpaper or..? Thanks for the response tho.
It looks nice. Not very steampunky, but nice.
Needs more vents and shafts.
[QUOTE=wingless;25755126]Needs more vents and shafts.[/QUOTE] Thats what i plan to get done today. Will post results. Also thanks for the artistics guys.
You have really fat fingers [editline]31st October 2010[/editline] Looks alright though, wouldn't ever use it if it was an actual weapon though.
you got a loong way to go. Learn something about trigger dicipline while your headed there.
Pretty nice looking but, as said by you and others, still plain nice ACOG
Why are you wearing fingerless gloves inside? That is the question.
Also that's not acog.
[QUOTE=Doc Diddles;25762247]Why are you wearing fingerless gloves inside? That is the question.[/QUOTE] If only i could explain my love for them. Also fat fingers-theres my hand with the gloves and then theres my dad with the green jumper on, hes a big guy. Also not ACOG? I was aware that an ACOG was basicly an ajustable, slightly telescopic sight? Thanks for the coments tho guys, next update in around mabe an hour? Lots of pipes and all that jazz.

[QUOTE=Super2Donny;25765008][img_thumb] will be appreciated. nice work anyway.[/QUOTE] thanks man, on both acounts.

Wha you're doing is basically trying to convince us that megablocks is lego.
okay, well its got a working, home made telescopic sight that i made. any better?
Wheres that update Boi
It needs a bit more of a metallic feel than some tacky glitter paint. Maybe add in a few scuff marks, it still looks plasticky
[QUOTE=Mr cake fingers;25770208]okay, well its got a working, home made telescopic sight that i made. any better?[/QUOTE] or just working scope is acceptable
Update now please?
sorry, so pissed at my phone right now, its decided to have mental breakdown, itl be up in about 10 mins. [editline]1st November 2010[/editline] [QUOTE=Dr. Fishtastic;25774469]It needs a bit more of a metallic feel than some tacky glitter paint. It looks more like it's a futuristic laser gun. It doesn't look "steampunkesqe".
[QUOTE=Grabigel;25788532]It looks more like it's a futuristic laser gun. It doesn't look "steampunkesqe".[/QUOTE] Well it was an old light gun as i said, i just worked with what i had, thanks for the input though :)
You have GW paint and I know a bit about them so if you can, Use the dark brown and light brown with tiny dabs of the foundation DARK brown to create a nice mottled mud effect for certain parts. If you want I could find out the names of them but you should be able to figure out. Good luck with it

you could add some self-made wood and leather parts to hide the futuristic flowy kind of gun you hvae under it. The less original weapon is visible, the better you are doing.

The copper coloring is wayyyy too bright and clean. Dirty it up a bit, or use a darker brass tone.
Gears. Dirt. Will do. Thanks for the responces guys, always nice. Any cheap ass alternates for actualy buying gears?
[QUOTE=Mr cake fingers;25810561]Gears. Dirt. Will do. Thanks for the responces guys, always nice. Any cheap ass alternates for actualy buying gears?[/QUOTE] small gears can be taken out of old pocket watches, which are dirt-cheap at thrift and antique shops at times
