• The Fast Lane and How It Makes No Sense.

I'm talking about the fast lane on the highways. I started driving late last year with my permit and I've only realized this now. Why does the Government/Police want you to drive at the speed limit but then they have a "fast lane" on the highway? Or am I just getting this all wrong and it's not really a fast lane and that it was named that by the people and the name sticked? Please explain this phenomenon.
It's for overtaking.
I thought this would be about the "Fast Lane" 20-something Business-Class lifestyle that dominates today's youth.
It's for overtaking. Slow old woman in your lane? Pass in the fast lane.
It's for overtaking slow ass motherfuckers who DONT FUCKING KNOW NOT TO FUCKING EAT A MOTHERFUCKING BURGER WHILE ALSO AT THE SAME FUCKING TIME STEERING THE GODDAMN WHEEL AND SCREAMING AT THEIR MOTHERFUCKING CHILDREN IN THE MOTHERFUCKING BACK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
not everyone drives at the speed limit. lorries are limited, some people don't like to drive fast. the inside lane gives you a way to overtake them so you CAN go at the speed limit
Most people go 10-20 miles over the limit anyway while on a highway. I know i do. Yeah what the others said, it is for people who wish to overtake slower cars.
Our Autobahns are one big fast lane.
It's for when things happen When I was driving along today a 70-year old lady was going 25 and annoying the shit out of people so someone threw a McDonalds' cup, full of ice, through her side window
It's for overtaking but Americans don't understand that and think that all lanes are equal. If you're a stupid fuck who can't drive then get in the right damned lane and stay out of my way. If you're in the middle and you're slow as piss then speed the fuck up or get over so I can pass. You aren't supposed to ride in the left hand lane unless you are going faster than everyone else.
Oh now I feel like a dumb ass I knew it was for overtaking but I thought it was called the fast lane for another reason god damn it I feel stupid now give me dumb ratings if you want
For going 130mph weee
Because some lorries are restricted to 60 mph and they can use both lane 1 and lane 2, so by overtaking them in lane three at 70 mph, you are faster than them.
For going 130mph weee
Bitch please I go 130au's an hour. Whoever rated me bad spelling doesn't know what an au is.
I thought this when I first started learning as well though, I thought on a duel carriageway if everyone is going the same speed why would you need an overtaking lane, until I realised not everyone is going the same speed.
Is everyone using regional terms for this stuff or are they non-american terms?
It's not only on highways, either. On any 2+ lane road without an HOV lane, the left lane is always for faster traffic. But fuck if it doesn't matter around here. Hell, the other day, the right lane was traveling faster than the left on a parkway, and even then we were going 20 over the limit.
Is everyone using regional terms for this stuff or are they non-american terms?
i chose to make mine non-regional.
I've traveled about 140mph when in my step-dad's car on the Motorway. Motorway = Autobahn = Freeway.
i chose to make mine non-regional.
I don't know what lorries are. :saddowns:
I don't know what lorries are. :saddowns:
High capacity road going mechanised goods vehicles.
I thought this would be about the "Fast Lane" 20-something Business-Class lifestyle that dominates today's youth.
You, like me, expect too much of people.
Because some lorries are restricted to 60 mph and they can use both lane 1 and lane 2, so by overtaking them in lane three at 70 mph, you are faster than them.
Most that I see on the roads disable their governor chip, so they can hit 100.
I don't know what lorries are. :saddowns:
Semi trucks
It's called the passing lane you dolt.
Semi trucks
Lorries, or trucks. Anyone that say's Semi is just making things harder for themselves.
My car can go 250 quid.
Most that I see on the roads disable their governor chip, so they can hit 100.
really? because i've never seen any doing that, ever. you always see them taking up both lanes with one in the outside lane going at 60 and one in the inside lane going at 61 squeezing past.
It's for people who don't drive the speed limit. Slower vehicles to the right (or left) and faster ones to the left (or right)...
Yes, why do we British drive on the left?
