I'm actually surprised this has not been posted. As most of you know Michael vick Played US Football for the Cardinals but was arrested a few years back for illegal dog fights. He was given 18 months and was banned from the nfl. He was released about a month ago and is somehow still in the NFL. On withthe story:
Less than 30 days after his official release from federal custody, Vick is back in the NFL, having signed a two-year contract with the Eagles on Thursday.
As Goodell outlined in his reinstatement of Vick weeks earlier, all teams were free to sign him. One did. Moreover, the team that took the chance, Philadelphia, is a championship-level, signature franchise run by one of the most powerful owners in the game, Jeffrey Lurie, and quarterbacked by one of the game's most respected citizens, Donovan McNabb.
"I know I've done some terrible things, made a horrible mistake," he said.
Dungy spoke of the signing as an example of "Christian forgiveness."
This shocked me actually. Living in Philadelphia the city's been torn between thoughts. Mostly the blacks are happy for his signing and others are just mortified. There have been some protests as well outside of Lincoln Financial Field.
Your thoughts?

Vick should be permabanned.
The guy who killed a guy drunk driving should get more than a year barred from the NFL.
Any other NFL players that paid their way out of jail lately?
Wow, so pissed off at the Eagles right now. I'm from Philly, and go there every summer, but damn. I'm pissed off by the fact that they even let the fucking criminal back in football.
Salary dropped about 48Mil (From endorsements and all.)
Moral: Don't do dog fighting, kids.

Your right, he does not deserve a 48 million dollar salary! He only deserves 3 million..
what he did was wrong
but he did his time
he obviously won't do it again.
good on him for still trying. if i was him i'd hide from the public for the rest of my life.

Yeah he did something wrong.
Look at what the rest of the world might be doing.

I live in Philly, too, and I must say: What the fuck, Eagles?!
PETA and millions of decent football fans around the world are disappointed that the Philadelphia Eagles have chosen to sign a man who hanged dogs from trees, electrocuted them with jumper cables, held them underwater until they drowned in his swimming pool, and even threw his own family dogs into the fighting pit to be torn to shreds while he laughed. What sort of message does this send to young fans who care about animals and don't want to see them be harmed?
PETA certainly hopes that Vick has learned his lesson and feels truly remorseful for his crimes—but since he's given no public indication that that's the case, only time will tell. At this point, all Eagles fans can do is cross their fingers and hope that they won't ever have to explain to their sons and daughters what a "rape rack" is and why their favorite player was using one, as Falcons fans once had to.

Update: Many people have asked us how to complain to the NFL. You can send an e-mail to the NFL through its official contact form here. You can call the main office of the Philadelphia Eagles at 215-463-2500, and you can find mailing addresses here.
Also, please click here to join PETA in asking the NFL to require all its players—some of whom have been involved in a series of cruelty-to-animals cases—to attend PETA's "Developing Empathy for Animals" course. You can also urge the NFL to take cases of animal abuse seriously in the future by updating its policy on personal conduct.
Michael Vick is a fucking horrible person and should still be in jail for what he did.
He served his time theres nothing wrong with him being able to play
What the fuck! This is my favorite team and i'm getting this retard back on the field, on my team?? We barely got T.O off!
All he did was play some Pokemon, I don't see what's the big deal with this guy.

Are you a vegetarian?
All football players are fucking psycho
Are you a vegetarian?
I'm a vaginatarian. :smug:
This isn't news
We had Owens. Now we have Vick.
The Eagles can't survive without at least one total asshole it seems.

Vick isn't as much of an ass though so they are making progress.
I hope Philly rips him apart like he did to those dogs...

He never ripped dogs apart though?
Are you a vegetarian?
No I'm a sensible human being.
Killing animals to eat them is one thing but forcing dogs to fight each other and then killing whatever's left for one's amusement is another.
I've not seen a post in this thread without a dumb rating.
Douchebag shouldn't of got off so easy

He did 1 and a half years. Others would get about 5 years.

"Ex star football player who was arrested for a large gambling ring in which dogs fought and were abused was released from jail and signed by a football team even though he was banned and recently reinstated"
I'm pretty sure this is news. Since the ex dog fighter who was banned from the nfl was recently signed onto a foot ball team :downs:
what sucks is I still can't play him in madden, my franchise needs a fast quarterback badly

I know it is extremely annoying not being able to use him after you get used to him in 08.
Oh well, I hope Michael can get his life back on track and learn from his horrible ways.
Ah man. I wanted him on the Panthers. He'd be PERFECT for us.
ITT: We learn that there is a reasonable population of angsty pussies on facepunch.
Good for vick, this will be an interesting season.

Sure, because not liking a dude for sadistically murdering animals for his amusement, and wanting him to face the full consequences of his actions makes us angsty pussies.
Aren't you so badass with your heart of stone you're so cool I wish I could be just like you.
