What would it be like if Sonic did not have a moving camera?

Tails is gohst
Huge 2D level design like this always makes me excited. This is why Castlevania: Harmony of Despair looks awesome. [img_thumb]http://images1.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20100812021238/castlevania/images/9/94/Blade.jpg[/img_thumb]
I'm doing another one where the camera is locked onto the character and the world is what moves around.
Speaking of cameras in 2d video games..
Super Mario World actually only has 4 camera modes. The flight and "platform" snapping are actually part of one mode. There is no camera "locking" as described in that video. It's just simple camera mechanics based on whether or not Mario is climbing or on the ground (flying/swimming would count for climbing in this case.) It's also worth noting that when he says the camera is bottom or top locked in the video, the camera cannot go any higher or lower because there's nothing left to display above or below the visible level space.
Seems way more fun the play since you can actually see what's coming. Which is the main reason why I always kinda disliked 2d sonic games.

How about one where Sonic wears a GoPro?
^ oh god my eyes
If he deinterlaced and stop blending the fields, it would be less nauseating.
Sonic games are always better when the characters are smaller on the screen. Gives you more of a feel for how fast you're moving.
Here's how I made it if anyone's curious:
Holy shit, frame by frame.
Do the entire Castlevania Symphony of the night map, including the upside down castle. Alucard would only be a tiny little pixel.
