• Marvel kills off Wolverine
Today, the Marvel Universe said goodbye to an iconic character -- Wolverine. Yes, the mutant whose healing factor kept him alive for what seems like forever is gone. Even though Wolverine aka Logan has been around well over 100 years in the books, he's been alive for quite some time in the real world. Wolverine first appeared in "The Incredible Hulk #180" back in October 1974, so it's only fitting this incredible character is gone on his 40th birthday. "Death of Wolverine #4" hit newsstands on Wednesday and ABC News caught up with writer Charles Soule to see how this huge loss will affect the X-Men and basically "He can't heal from the injuries he receives," Soule said, alluding to his death. "That's always been one of his biggest powers. He went to see Reed Richards aka Mr. Fantastic [of the 'Fantastic Four'] and he said, 'I'll figure it out eventually, but you gotta stop fighting.' And Wolverine's like 'Yeah, okay, I'll do my best.'"
http://abcnews.go.com/Entertainment/marvel-kills-off-men-great-wolverine/story?id=26221352
it won't last
He'll come back somehow, some way. They always do. No one ever dies.
especially Wolverine. He is hands down the single most popular X-men in the history of X-men. He appears on the covers of comics and stories that he doesn't even have cameos in.
He'll come back somehow, some way. They always do. No one ever dies.
at least the excuses probably aren't going to be as horrible and jammed in there as DC does
RIP Hugh Jackman's acting career
at least the excuses probably aren't going to be as horrible and jammed in there as DC does
? if anything marvel bullshits way more than dc does when it comes to people dying and resurrecting.
See ya in a year or two.
? if anything marvel bullshits way more than dc does when it comes to people dying and resurrecting.
Superman.
I hate it when they paint it like it's his ultimate death. He's dying in this one story arc. Nothing big.
I hate it when they paint it like it's his ultimate death. He's dying in this one story arc. Nothing big.
Sales.
I remember when Captain America got shot and killed. Next thing you know he's back and still kicking ass.
So how do they actually kill him?
Superman.
because captain america being trapped in space and time from a bullet shot by a hypnotized sharon carter is less bullshit than superman being healed in the fortress of solitude.
why r they killing him off isnt he like one of the most popular comic book characters
I remember when Captain America got shot and killed. Next thing you know he's back and still kicking ass.
Bucky still plays as Cap a lot, though. Even with Steve Rogers alive.
why r they killing him off isnt he like one of the most popular comic book characters
publicity i guess remember when DC killed superman? or when marvel killed captain america
So how do they actually kill him?
[sp]Basically Wolverine interrupts Dr. Cornelius from turning random people from all over the world into Weapon X. The last thing they need is to be pumped full of adamantium and Wolverine sacrifices himself by puncturing the adamantium tank and due to that it completely covers him.[/sp] http://i.imgur.com/ZvmRqG2.jpg
shocker he regenerates his wounds and comes back
a comic book character die in a medium where the bad-guys can be thrown into mulchers and they're back in the next issue?! what ever shall marvel do.... fem-wolverine next?
They already have done that. Its called X-23. Its... [thumb]http://img2.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20101030233125/marveldatabase/images/b/ba/Laura_Kinney_(Earth-TRN177).jpg[/thumb] I'm not terribly familiar with her, but what I've heard isn't very good. Never had a desire to press further.
ya i know they've cloned him before, but none of them are the wolverine
Quick word, I accidentally posted untagged spoilers at the end and you managed to quote me in the like seven seconds between me posting it and me correcting it.

Needs more RETCON.

You could THEORETICALLY teleport/phase him out if that's even possible [editline]20th October 2014[/editline] i mean the dude is basically immortal, he could be locked in a box for a million years and still live, right?
[sp]wouldn't he have been pretty fucked up in that situation with regeneration or not?[/sp]
[sp]Ohh not at all. His regeneration is absolute. We're talking "I got nuked. I've been completely vaporized. I've had my molecules completely disassembled." kind of stuff.[/sp]
isn't X-23 a huge mary sue? Those are the vibes I got from her but I could be way off the radar with that one.

I've had my molecules completely disassembled." kind of stuff.[/sp]
[sp]i know that since i read some stuff, but like he would be in a mold of adamantium, regeneration or not that situation would be pretty bad. since there is basically nothing to regenerate.[/sp] also can he suffocate? i remember one story about deadpool, wolverine and daken and they all have the healing factor and someone was going to kill someone by tying them up and drowning them in a pool.
