• I need consumer advice: Which low-budget video production shotgun mic is best?

Shooting on my 5D mark II for television advertisements and such, which of these low-budget shotgun mics do you think I should go for? I've narrowed it down to either; Audio-Technica Pro 24-CM for around 120 pounds OR Røde VideoMic for a mere 93 pounds. or, for a step up, if these are both too horrid; Røde VideoMic Pro for 190 pounds. I've done much research, but in the end it comes down to user experience, hence why I'm asking here. Any of you had any experience with these microphones? Now, I can bump my budget up to around 1200 pounds, but I'd like some money leftover for a Glidecam 4000, some diffusers, reflectors and such.
I have good experience with Røde, but that's the only one I've tried. It might have a little much hi-mid, but like I said it's the only one I've tried so I don't know if any of the other are better/worse at that point.
The cheaper Røde - does it hold up to production quality do you think? Or have you not tried that one?
I think this is the one I've used. http://www.rodemic.com/mics/ntg-2 But I'm quite sure that Røde gives pretty good quality for the price.
A'ight. Going for the Røde pro for ≈190 quid.
