What if it means being bundled with Origin no matter where you get it?
Also other BF games have had stat tracker websites, to me this just seems like one with a Steam community like feature.
It doesn't bug me if it's on Origin cause I'm getting it from Amazon/EB Games basically putting on my computer, registering it too Origin then linking it to Steam, if that doesn't work I'll just make sure to go offline on Steam before playing it.
"And the all important kill death ratio, for you kill conscious players out there."
Kdr elitism, here we come.
I never had a problem with it not being steam since I already have several games on Origin...
Huh, I hope I'll be able to play this with a GTX 460.

I don't recall retail being on origin.

Nobody really cares in battlefield though, so idiots who do just get shot down the second they talk.

If you think people who know 2 shits about any BF game, you know people won't give 2 fucks about their K/D, rather, they'll care about their W/L, or squad play attitude.
wow they totally ripped off steam with the "friends ingame" pictures, with the avatar and the green border.
wow they totally ripped off steam with the "friends ingame" pictures, with the avatar and the green border.
And you think Steam was the first program to handle friends avatars and such like that? Probably the first massive one, yes, but even MSN Messenger or such does that. :colbert:
wow they totally ripped off steam with the "friends ingame" pictures, with the avatar and the green border.
It seems most of that was ripped from something else.
I've considered not getting this because of their attitude over who sells it and now I see this. The graphics are nice and the gameplay looks solid, but I won't be pre-ordering it.
The service looks rather ok imo, but I'm not a really big fan of having both Steam and this running at the same time, especially when this looks like Steam with facebook glued together, but instead of supporting a massive amount of games this only supports 1 (maybe all BFs, didn't tell in the video.)
Still, I think its a really dick move by EA, exclusive titles are such a pathetic attempt to get people to your platform.

I can't believe you people linger so much on a detail that we have already established that you have misunderstood.

32K points for rank 6... Wonder how the rest of the ranking will go...
Facefield.
Battlebook.
So it's like Call of Duty Elite just free?
I'll enjoy this for the statistics. Not so much for the networking, but as long as it's free I see no problem here.

"if we make it look just like steam maybe they won't mind that it's not actually on steam"
[editline]16th July 2011[/editline]
all this "IT'S LIKE FACEBOOK FOR YOUR GAME! REVOLUTIONARY! LOOK YOU CAN TRACK ALL THIS MEANINGLESS SHIT WOW!" is already getting old
first uplay, then cod elite, now this, then what?
More examples of companies tacking 'Social' features onto games. The only 'social' features you really need are a friends list and chat, and steam already does that in a non-intrusive and useful way. With this Battlelog service, it looks like a webpage, so chances are you'd have to either get origin, or alt tab to use it.

I could listen to the BRRRZRRRR noise for an hour. <3
Battlelog is a website? Laaaaaame....
Would be easier to access Battlelog only in-game, it's like Raptr.com and BioWare Social Network.

Sounds more like CoD: Modern Ragefare to me.
Looks like they took everything good about Facebook and made it for Battlefield. I see nothing wrong with this. Plus, it's free.
I don't care that it's not on steam, I care that it's on bloody origin. It is a shit service which isn't making any of the right moves to even try to compete with steam.
Edit:
Okay, I'll admit, Battlelog looks actually pretty good. It's got all the features that should exist within the Origin client not just an ingame function.
The thing that gets to me most is the fact that there is a limit on the amount of times you can re-download/Install your game. It's not like you are allowing friends to bloody get a copy off of you.
EA is probably going to lose money from Origin, they should just stick with publishing games and not trying to compete with people who can't be beaten ( Steam )
fuck them emphasisng kill death ratio. how about they remove that and replace it with win/loss ratio, fucks sake.
fuck them emphasisng kill death ratio. how about they remove that and replace it with win/loss ratio, fucks sake.
Yea I have a very low kill death ratio because I play as medic. I mean I don't want people thinking I suck because I choose the healing over the hurting.
