Summary : 7/10 good game held back by the micro-transactions
I think for me the biggest takeaway was just how bloated with content and grind the game is.
No wonder publishers are nickel and diming customers with extra editions, season passes, gacha systems and loot boxes (and even then games may still fail publisher expectations). Like Jim Sterling said, I don't know if the gaming community ever asked for all this bloat that needs to make its money back somehow. It's like we've successfully moved away from the old 4h AAA corridor campaigns, but then gone way too far into the opposite direction and now singleplayer games can almost feel as big and grindy as fresh MMOs. It seems like loot boxes are too lucrative for AAA to shift course, but I guess it's already drastically changed direction in the past when nobody expected it to, so who knows.
I'm happy we have a much stronger AA & indie scene this time around tho. Really makes me feel like I can opt out of these practices without giving up on a fun time. I'll just be having that fun elsewhere.
Wow an Angry Joe skit I didn't immediately skip as soon as I got annoyed by it. He should do this kind of skit more often, it's better than the random shit he does sometimes that ends up delaying his reviews.

Great review. And i agree it gets repetetive
I am still in act 2 after 26 hours. But also trying to get 100%. My overall % is about 35-40% at this time i bet.
