Search for diamond. Use diamond to make diamond tools that you use to find more diamond. Build amazing structures on the way.
I know it's a bit odd to double up on the whole "paper thingy used for sugar thingy" thing, but you guys have to remember that Notch is trying to expand outward first and he also has a limited number of blocks that he can use, some of which are probably going to be saved for modders.

Agreed, if you want realism, don't play minecraft.
Not to mention it's a lot better to have reeds have multiple uses instead of being used purely to make paper which is used to make books which is used to make cosmetic bookshelf blocks.

It just recently entered beta and is not released yet, so no.

There are no real informations about it. Its questionable if he wants to share 30% of his profit from the game with Valve, since its going strong as it is. I guess we will see, but I bought it regardless. You can add the shortcut to steam and play with the community overlay though.
