The account has been tweeting prolifically in support of Ukip, Brexit, Donald Trump, Bashar al-Assad and – tellingly – Russia.
Research by a US-based analyst going by the name of Conspirador Norteño showed that the intensity of messaging has coincided with key points of Russian government interest, including its annexation of Crimea in 2014, intervention in Syria and the wider support for Mr Trump and Brexit seen in state media.
Data appears to show the account tweeting regularly between 5am and 5pm UK time – 8am to 8pm in Russia – seven days a week.
The inclusion of eight digits at the end of a Twitter handles like @DavidJo52951945 has also been observed in many automated and “troll” accounts, which often amplify each other’s messages.
“Why would somebody living somewhere in the Solent getting up before 5am in the morning and spending 12 hours tweeting far-right and Kremlin talking points seven days a week.
“What kind of human being does that?”

This is referred to as astroturfing - where someone tries to make an artificial grass roots thing.
Astroturfing and fake news are all about quantity. Those with money can bankroll more bots and shills to drown out competing narratives and stories. It hands power directly to the rich, to governments and to spoopy creepers.

To be frank and honest with yall. Fuck brexit and the fools who support it; and fuck the whore shills who spread lies for money.
Bonus content:
Make your very own russian bot name! Your family name + 8 random digits.
I am very surprised.
Quite clever to be honest, but equally wrong. Brexit is one of the most fucked up and mis informed campaigns I've ever witnessed in this country, the majority of people who voted to leave were either heavily miss informed or racists in my opinion.

It's quite the parallel to what occurred in the 2016 elections of the US. Say what you will of the campaigns of Remain or HRC, much of which rings familiar and a number of which I agree with, but both were up against some insidious shit. Learn from the mistakes of the campaigns, but also learn to combat such misinformation if one wishes to construct the future you'd care for.
Russia is just literally actively doing its best to tear down the strongest democratic world powers across the globe
it's a conspiracy I don't want to beleive but it makes sense. It's like nonviolent world domination
I can't find it right now but there's a massive twitter thread about Russian bots on both sides of the political spectrum.
Their common goals right now are to create distrust in the american electoral system.
So both the pro and anti trump bots will go on and say things like 3 million unregistered illegal voters (right) and the election was a complete sham and trump colluded with Russia (left)
Oh it was linked in the twitter link https://twitter.com/BarryGsGhost/status/895840586661593088

These links were an interesting read. Very good reason to not just trust random information you find on the web.

People like Boilrig are just so lacking in the ability to think critically that they fall into issues with confirmation bias and listen to stuff like Russian trolls spreading misinformation.
