Treyarch's taking a hard line against everyone posting video evidence and attempting to become "Internet nerd famous," though; so said Treyarch design director David Vonderhaar. "Some are people using old dashboards or old versions of the game," Vonderhaar wrote in the game's official forums, according to a report on GameSpy (the forums appear to be down right now). "Others are claiming victory on old dev builds that don't even connect to the version of Xbox Live that you use. Others are reproducible issues that we will hotfix or patch just like we said we would. In essence, we likely know more about it than you do from watching a video on Vimeo or YouTube." Vonderhaar didn't want to "make mini-celebrities out of douche-bags" by posting a laundry list of offenders and their video posts, but he did lash out at the culture that he believes is giving them their fame. "What many of these people want is to be Internet nerd famous," Vonderhaar explained. "I'm not going to make them famous and you shouldn't either. Internet hysteria from normal people is exactly what they want and that's how many people reacted today." In the end, he expressed a vote of confidence in Treyarch's team that's now working on fixes for problems that have materialized. If you're one of the people he's referencing who've posted a glitch exploitation in action online, though, you might want to want in the other direction if you ever run into him on the street and he knows who you are.
Nerdrage, Developer style.
What a child.
Maybe they should remove the glitches if they don't want people abusing them
Woah calm down there sport. Here is your rattle, try not to throw it out of the pram next time.
Well, he mad.
Uh, why do they care so much? Are they afraid that their ickle wittle game going to look bad as a result of these petty glitches being uncovered?
What a child.
who even calls a person a child like that
Hah, Internet nerd famous. I want that as a title.
It happens with almost every game, why are they making such a big deal about it?
Wow.
yes because when i post a glitch it's totally because i want to be nerd famous!!!!! i want all of the sweaty internet gaming nerds bowing with their pimply faces at my feet and leaking pus everywhere all over me
who even calls a person a child like that
me obviously, dog face
Guys! Don't walk down any dark alleys, this Vonderhaar douche might jump you!
me obviously, dog face
Who even calls a person a dog face like that? Also, that was a bit of an overreaction, in my opinion.
Release game with bugs. Complain when people find said bugs. :psyduck:
Glitches should be the least of their worries at the moment. On the PC version atleast there are massive core gameplay components that don't work proper or at all in some cases. It is atrocious.
I haven't noticed any glitches yet, I was too busy lagging.
Seems like he was real butthurt over it.
Fuck them. They did the same thing when WaW came out. Promised to fix it and... well. Good luck paying Black Ops multiplayer on PC. oh wow, way to be treyarch
If they would just release the game without the obvious bugs instead of being lazy as most developers seem to be these days this wouldn't be an issue. There is playtesting for a reason.
He seems to be lashing out to nerds, but he seems to be at the pinnacle of nerds by helping to create a well-known franchise made for nerds.
If I was a game developer I would be thankful to any sweaty nerd who gives a step by step guide on how to do the glitch, that way I could patch it faster. God damn that dev is STUPID.
He seems to be lashing out to nerds, but he seems to be at the pinnacle of nerds by helping to create a well-known franchise made for nerds.
Idunno, the newer Call of Duties seem to be more of a bro thing than a nerd thing.

Call of Duty: Black Oops
Treyarch prefers that people do not find the bugs and just ignore them if they do find them.
Because that's going to happen, right?

Well it's treyarch, and people expect it to be better?
