"Our game will use SecuROM for the Beta and Final games .exe" nooooooo
So uh any ways of getting a beta key without preordering?
So uh any ways of getting a beta key without preordering?
I'm sure Fileplanet and other sources will have keys.
"Our game will use SecuROM for the Beta and Final games .exe" nooooooo
Wow... That's a really bad move.
I just know something will fuck up with my install because of securom. Allmost every securom game I've tried wont work and I have had to find a crack.
Wow... That's a really bad move.
Hmm, after doing some research, maybe not. It's not that horrible after reading the blog post about it.
Authentication by going online You can also choose to authenticate by going online once. If so, this happens the first time that you start the actual game. You will be asked for permission. If you allow it, SecuROM will talk to a master server, which counts on how many computers your serial key is currently in use. When the installation has been authenticated online once, SecuROM will no longer go online. You can then play the single-player campaign 100% offline, without needing the DVD. Also, you can play multiplayer online without needing the DVD. You can have the game authenticated on up to 10 machines at the same time. One authentication is valid for 10,000 days. Thus, if you authenticated once on launch day - March 2nd, 2010 – that authentication will be valid until July 18th, 2037. Online authentication … what about de-authentication? You can de-authenticate the game. De-authentication means to return one authentication to the “pool” of available activations (which started with 10 available). You do it one of two ways: 1. In the Games Explorer in Vista: right-click on the game’s Icon and select “Deauthorize this machine” 2. Uninstall the game; uninstallation will automatically invoke the de-authentication process. After de-authentication, you are told how many authentications are now in the “pool”. SecuROM needs to go online to de-authenticate.
It seems way better than the "10 install limit that you only get 5 out of because we suck" shit that other companies pull. I don't mind this actually.
2. Uninstall the game; uninstallation will automatically invoke the de-authentication process. Means you can uninstall and install again without using one use?
2. Uninstall the game; uninstallation will automatically invoke the de-authentication process. Means you can uninstall and install again without using one use?
That's correct. What it means is that you can only have 10 activated installations at the same time. But you can install it as many times as you want for 10 000 days, just limited to 10 pc's at once.
Hmm, after doing some research, maybe not. It's not that horrible after reading the blog post about it.
That doesn't sound bad at all
Well, you can have it on more than 10 pc's at once too, just that you can only have 10 of them activated. [editline]04:10PM[/editline]
That doesn't sound bad at all
Not one bit, it's pure anti-hacking.
Why would someone have to install the same game on 10 PCs? :v:
Why would someone have to install the same game on 10 PCs? :v:
Business gaming? I dunno. Anyways, that's what makes it great, that way you won't really be bothered by it, at all.
Fuck. I guess I'll just have to wait for the wide demo access, stupid private keys and shit. I should preorder it.. *Goes to steam* [editline]10:31AM[/editline] Wait... will preordering it from steam give me a key for access to the beta?
"Our game will use SecuROM for the Beta and Final games .exe" nooooooo
Oh fuck off it's not that bad.
Oh fuck off it's not that bad.
I don't really see what's wrong with it. It'll work. Eventually.
unlocks 5pm GMT is anyone is interested
I'm Ok with SecuROM in this one. As they said, it will be used ONLY for verification when you first run the game, and to prevent hackers crack it really soon. No install limit, dvd requirement or daemon tools related problem bullshit. I wish DICE was not under EA's control, they seem to be great guys.
Install limit arrrrgh fuck sake
Install limit arrrrgh fuck sake
oh no i am now incapable of installing this 5 times over
oh no i am now incapable of installing this 5 times over
It also installs some spy-ware program on your computer without your acknowledgement. Guess I won't be buying this game either.
unlocks 5pm GMT is anyone is interested
excellent i finish work at 4pm tomorrow so i shall be ready!
unlocks 5pm GMT is anyone is interested
Noon EST? Excellent :D
It also installs some spy-ware program on your computer without your acknowledgement. Guess I won't be buying this game either.
Except you're wrong and it doesn't.
Noon EST? Excellent :D
You had to read his post to know this? ... It's in the news itself.
Brilliant. :golfclap: [editline]05:55PM[/editline] Calm your nuts boy, it's not that bad.
I know, meh. Wouldn't it be hilarious if they started doing this to console games, binding them to a single machine I mean? Haha, no more lending games to your friends for you console gamers!
It also installs some spy-ware program on your computer without your acknowledgement. Guess I won't be buying this game either.
Unless you use hacks, it's no problem at all.
