A disoriented seven-year-old US girl has walked to a home in the US state of Kentucky to report that her plane had crashed, police say. The plane was later found with four bodies inside in Lyon County, about 30 miles (50km) east of Paducah city. US TV news network NBC said the girl told the man who answered the door to her that her parents died in the crash. [...] The girl is reported to be in hospital receiving treatment for non-life-threatening injuries.
BBC
the girl told the man who answered the door to her that her parents died in the crash.
:(
Tough girl though, just walking it off.
Holy shit, the girl is lucky. She not only survived the impact and yet managed to walk for help. My condolences to her parents though.

I think I would have rather died. Hard life for her. I hope she fairs well.
This is going to mental scar this little girl for life.
This is going to mental scar this little girl for life.
But in the end of it all it will make her stronger as long as she let's it.
But in the end of it all it will make her stronger as long as she let's it.
I don't know, man. The idea of childhood trauma and shit making people stronger is a really sketchy one. It's most likely going to fuck her up severely and make her miserable for a hell of a long time. People taking horrible trauma by the horns, turning it around and fucking it to make something good out of it is incredibly rare outside of fiction. A lot of people get over it eventually, but that doesn't leave them "stronger" than people who haven't went through shit. It leaves them numbed to it. To me, that itself is a sad sad thing.
But in the end of it all it will make her stronger as long as she let's it.
Trauma doesn't work like that.
But in the end of it all it will make her stronger as long as she let's it.
I think the saying should be, "What doesn't kill you fucks you up mentally"
I think the saying should be, "What doesn't kill you fucks you up mentally"
You never know, really. It hugely depends on the individual and the circumstances. Considering she just walked it off and was already able to understand her parents died and communicate that to somebody else, chances are she will be able to take it moderately well. Considering the crash happened in a private plane, it's unlikely her family was exactly in danger of poverty, so the girl should be fine at least in that regard. It's a question how will her further development and life continue, but I want to imagine she manages well.
the girl told the man who answered the door to her that her parents died in the crash.
It's amazing how children can deal with these kind of situations sometimes better than a full grown adult. I don't know about you but I'd be flipping the fuck out
I think the saying should be, "What doesn't kill you fucks you up mentally"
True, but keeping the mentality of what doesn't kill you makes you stronger may help her manage.
At least she's not dead too.
Well, you say lucky, but how lucky are you when your life is now without your family when you're 7 years old? [editline]4th January 2015[/editline]
True, but keeping the mentality of what doesn't kill you makes you stronger may help her manage.
Oh yeah I'm sure she's somehow metaphysically, spiritually or mentally stronger for surviving the plane crash that killed her folks. I really wish folks would stop using that phrase unless the person it's directed to has the flu or some shit, you know, something that you get better at fighting the more it happens, not fucking plane crashes.
Whoa, this happened in my state.
