Look, Jamesons, it's your kid. You can name it whatever you'd like. India. Brooklyn. D'Brickashaw. Apple. Falcon. Seriously, go to town. We're in support of whatever you want to throw our way. But if you're going to give your daughter a weird name, at least roll with something that doesn't imply you spent the entire pregnancy cycle staring at your iPhone. Hashtag Jameson popped into this world on Saturday evening at around 10 o'clock, a precious little bird weighing eight pounds and possessing at least seven fingers—the full extent of what the only identifying picture shows. This is not the first time that parents have taken to the social media dictionary to outfit their child’s birth certificate. Last February, a man in Egypt named his son Facebook in an effort to honor the role the website played in igniting the country’s January 25 revolution. Right now, Hashtag looks good in blue, but the jury's still out deliberating on how that'll go when the hair finally starts growing in. Her mother, whose first name is not currently known (it's probably not Hashtag!) "luv[s] her so much" that she thought it appropriate to add six exclamation points. Hashtag will likely grow up to be a happy, healthy, beautiful adult woman, but we can't help but think she's going to face a great deal of scrutiny and teasing on the grade-school playgrounds. So when twitter dies as is the nature of everything are they going to force the child to change their name and how long before someone has yolo in their kids name.

she weys
Naming your child something so stupid is pretty much the most selfish thing ever I feel bad for the kid
If you "luv her so much!!!!!!" don't name her something stupid.
she weys
obviously this baby shall grow up to be a rich cheddar
Why the fuck would you name her Hashtag?!
i wonder if she will be legally allowed to write her name as '#'.
How is this even allowed? This would never be allowed where I live. As in, you'd never be able to register your child with that name.
bunch of insensitive cunts in this thread her name is just a reflection of her culture
I hate parents who name their son or daughter names like "Facebook, Hashtag, Dragonborn" or generally anything related to games and/or social media.
i wonder if she will be legally allowed to write her name as '#'.
I'm reminded of that girl named La-a (pronounced "Ladasha"). The dash don't be silent
How is this even allowed? This would never be allowed where I live. As in, you'd never be able to register your child with that name.
As stupid as it is they should have the right, she can always change it later on, which I'm sure she will.
I hate parents who name their son or daughter names like "Facebook, Hashtag, Dragonborn" or generally anything related to games and/or social media.
Woah Woah WOAH hold up there a sec. If your last name is freeman and you have a son you are obligated to name the child Gordon. With technology growing so fast you just never know when the combine are going to show up. You have to be prepared you know. I think it should be a law.
"gordon freeman" is a normal name tho its not like you're naming your daughter GLADoS or Dovahkiin or fucking Optimus Prime Jones actually optimus prime jones is kind of a rad name
I hate parents who treat their kids like pets or accessories, they should be aware that names like these really can really effect their lives, I grew up with an "odd" name and I'm still being made fun of because of it. I mean goddamn, this is almost as bad as that person who named her baby Pinkamena "Zecora" [surname].
What wankers.
If you are going for something weird make it there middle name, that way it does not have such a huge affect on their life. I might make my first born son's middle name Danger, but he would have a normal first name.
"gordon freeman" is a normal name tho its not like you're naming your daughter GLADoS or Dovahkiin or fucking Optimus Prime Jones actually optimus prime jones is kind of a rad name
I'd like to see someone bully a kid named optimus prime jones. You know that's gonna be one badass kid
Yeah I wouldn't mind Gordon Freeman or Sherlock Holmes. But don't be a dumbass and name your child Starkiller or Twilight Sparkle
I'd like to see someone bully a kid named optimus prime jones. You know that's gonna be one badass kid
Then it turns out that the bully's name is Megatron.
If you want to name your child something ridiculous, go for the middle name. Nobody's going to give a shit if their name is Gordon Freechmant Davis.
if u liek this babbies naem plz like for she is gods creatiun!!!

Mabry. Edit: Hell, my first name is biblical, Abraham, and my last name is from 2 different languages and hyphenated. I'm a special little snowflake.

But that's just me.
I don't know why, but the Freakanomics movie comes to mind, with the name meanings and all.

Optimus Prime Rib.
Speaking of silly names my last name means "hunchbacked" in Arabic, pretty cool
As stupid as it is they should have the right, she can always change it later on, which I'm sure she will.
No they shouldn't, kids should be protected against abuse like this.
