I found this video really interesting and it made me think a lot. I'm a creative guy anyway and I related a lot to what he was talking about, especially the girl at the doctors.
Yes.
It's basic psychology.
Yes, but they also spark it. Schools help make you get in line and not end up an idiot when you're an adult, nothing wrong with that.

Uhh, creativity is all about stepping out of line.

What if a kid finds out he likes painting at school? Did it not help spark his creative talent?

Too bad much of the reason that people are smacktards in school in the first place is because they have other smacktards to leech off of, and the problem with the original smacktards is parenting, not schooling.
And the video shows exactly why there's a problem with that.

It would if that kind of thing wasn't funded with the principal's milk money, and at the same time wasn't scoffed at as a serious career choice.

Not if he was forced to paint.
My school is teaching us how to work at the seaport, which is what our city is only good for, they're calling it logistics, because it technically is. Sports are on the highest budget, while art is very low. It's an F school by the way, and sadly I'm graduating from this F school.

Extra curricular clubs? Doing what you want to do?

I agree here
School sparked my interest in making films.

Listen, nobody is saying schools can't spark someone's interest in something. It's just that they usually don't, and they often discourage creative jobs.

By the way ScoutKing, what is your aspiration? Director? Editor? Heartless jaded producer?

all of them
all of them
Hmm. What is your reason for wanting to go into film?
Catholic Schools kill creativity
Seriously.

Hey, they produced George Carlin, so you have to give them some credit.
I learned more about myself out of school than I ever did in school. I found my tallents long after they pushed that shit down my neck.
The entire education system is about indoctrination, from kindergarten to university. None of it sparks creativity in the slightest. I've had some teachers that were exceptions, we all did, but I'm right overall.
The video is so right.
If you are not "normal" thy put you on drugs.
