An amazing controlled explosion of a mountain in China has been filmed and posted online. The video shows a large section of the snow-covered hill bulge and then erupt into a plume of dirt and rock that shoots hundreds of metres into the air.A landslide of earth rushes into a river at the base of the mountain as a huge cloud of dust builds and then floods out over the surrounding area. The dust cloud continues to rush towards the camera, which is several kilometres from the blast, until it fills the screen and sprays the lens with flecks of dirt.It is unclear exactly where or when the footage was taken but it was posted online on February 1.Comments posted online said the blast was likely conducted to divert the river."You can see they are diverting the river into a hydro-dam system. Blocking the river by displacing part of the hill side," a Liveleak user wrote.
source
Didn't realize landslides can be so powerful.
Looks like a mini Mount St Helens, only Helens ash wall and landslide killed every living thing it contacted.
Holy fuck

2012 IT BEGINS
FUCK MOUNTAINS
Where can I see the aftermath?
That is a hill, not a mountain. Edit: also, that camera is not "several kilometers from the blast". The speed of sound through air is only 300 metres per second yo.
The short moment after the underground explosions, when the mountain starts deforming, looks so unreal. Almost as if it's done using special/after effects. The the giant dustplume breaks through the ground, and you're like "HOLY SHIT".
Where can I see the aftermath?
Agreed, that yellowish house on the left looks like it got nailed with rocks
That's hot.

The I Hate Mountains team takes publicity stunts to a whole new level...
It's amazing how much humans can shape the world around them.
2012 IT BEGINS
They are blowing up the mountain to turn into a massive shipyard for the Ark ships!
