It will be the first time the chicken chain has delivered in the United States. Starting Thursday, people in Los Angeles and San Francisco will be able to have food delivered. KFC said it expects to expand the delivery service into Houston by the end of this year. More cities may come later. KFC is working with online delivery company DoorDash to deliver its chicken, biscuits and coleslaw. Customers will have to make orders through DoorDash's app or website.
apparently malaysia already does this
I can get behind this.
apparently malaysia already does this
And I'm pretty sure Canadian KFCs (at least the ones in Winterpeg) have a delivery service of their own too.
This makes sense. KFC has meals for the entire family, etc. The delivery fee is pretty insane though. The local Chinese place does it for free after an order exceeds a certain price. Doing it like this would encourage people to buy more.
Good idea, wouldn't want to burn too many calories walking to the restaurant or anything.
can confirm japan already does this
Come across the bridge to Berkeley please KFC
Come across the bridge to Berkeley please KFC
Do we even have a kfc here?
All the posts here basically pointing out that the U.S. isn't exactly first to this sort of thing has me quite worried. The thought that all the countries before her are the first to indulge in some chicken with a shitty smell surprises me greatly.
The only two KFC's got shut down in my area, I guess they were franchises and they sucked horribly.
they used to do this here (though it stopped years ago) and it was a pretty nice option. gives a little more variety to the usual pizza and chinese food
Yeah my local KFC does delivery, that's odd to hear
Hold on, let me read this correctly
It will be the first time the chicken chain has delivered in the United States. Starting Thursday, people in Los Angeles and San Francisco will be able to have food delivered. KFC said it expects to expand the delivery service into Houston by the end of this year. More cities may come later. The chicken won't come cheap: There's a delivery fee between $4.99 and $6.99, depending on a customer's location, and prices of some items will be higher than those in the restaurants.
Seriously, USA? We've had KFC delivery in my country for years, and the delivery fee is about a dollar and a half. Granted, you gotta spend at least six bucks for this option. Perhaps it's because everyone in America is expected to have a car and use the drive-thru? I have only seen one car ever use the drive-thru, in my city.
Damn it KFC, how about expanding in Denmark already? Nearest shop is in fricking Berlin and it sucks.
Indonesia has this service since forever (it's great btw) wtf I thought the US had it too
London when, we only have food couriers who's minimum order is like £20
If KFC delivered in London then I would become obese.
We've had this in South Africa for a while :P
Haven't they been doing this? Me and some friends ordered KFC delivery while in one of our apartments in Chicago a few months ago. There was a $15 delivery fee so we never ordered delivery from there since.
KFC has been steadily dropping the amount of meat in its chicken strips as an alternative to raising prices with inflation. I went to one recently and ordered some chicken strips and they were literally more breading than chicken.
UAE already does this as well, why is this considered new?

Buying from them basically helps the local economy, and is equally satiating to the costumer, as much as to the producers.
can confirm japan already does this
Fun fact; Japan's traditional christmas dinner is a bucket of KFC. The orders around the period are so numerous you've got to book your chicken a month in advance. If you show up on the day without a booking you can't get any because they simply don't have enough.
apparently malaysia already does this
Fucking horrible when compared to 'more seasoned' companies who have been doing this for years like PizzaHut and McDonalds though. These two companies have insulated & heated boxes which keep the foods warm on delivery so it arrives 'fresh'. KFC on the other hand only uses a metal box and your chicken arrive all soggy and cold and shit. kfc kinda sucks
We've had KFC delivery for ages now - you can even order online. (Bulgaria)

The thought that all the countries before her are the first to indulge in some chicken with a shitty smell surprises me greatly.
You'd be surprised, but to most Americans I've cajoled into trying out some of their "local fare" KFC over here in India, they've ended up coming away pleasantly surprised that the Zingers actually did taste better than the slop they're given back home. Since the concept of fast food is still (relatively) new here compared to the west, I've seen folks actually get dressed up in the best clothes to go to places like KFC, Pizza Hut or Domino's. It's still seen as somewhat of a "upper middle class" status thing to be seen in a Starbucks/fast food outlet here. :v: I'm just mad as hell that I can't have the original, international menu due to "religious sentiments" horeshit regarding beef over here - by god, I just want a good beef burger once in a while. :(
Apparently my KFC does this too. I live in Canada, up in the northern part of Alberta. They don't really advertise it, but you CAN call them and ask for delivery.
In China MCDonalds, Pizzahut and KFC all have delivery service and it's great, it costs about 10 rmb for them to bring it. I wrote a letter to these food chains in the Netherlands requesting them to do the same sadly they said it's not something they were interested in.
