Something about this whole thing does not feel right. Just the fact that an underage girl was at the playboy mansion is giving me "it was a setup" undertones.

Even if this turns out to be false, that doesn't mean they all are. Weren't some of the allegations actually fairly recent?

We don't need someone tacking on "Women say the darndest things" at the end as if somewhat serious rape allegations can just be chalked up to "Pft, women, yknow?" While I hope they're false, partly because I grew up with Cosby show re-runs and Cosby always had a place in my nostalgic heart, we can't just ignore them. Last I knew it seemed pretty likely that at least some of the accounts were real. It should be taken seriously.

What if, at the end of all of this, the allegations are 100% false. Does the monster go back in the closet? Not really. Rape is an idea that is toxic to literally any identity that is saddled with it. Cosby's had an honorary navy title retracted because of unproven rape allegations. That's fucking [I]silly.[/I]

My post was a reference to that, and nothing else. Personally, I'm on the side of a majority of the women who came forward.

I'm going to approach this with the same attitude I used with Jimmy Savile, Rolf Harris, etc. Remain concerned at the allegations, but wait until they're confirmed or denied before passing judgement on Bill Cosby himself.
