There should be a Team Four Star thread here. Also, prepare to be surprised at a certain character.
Where they are at the end of the episode is the furthest I've ever gotten in the game.
I've never finished FF7
You fucking shitting me?!
You tease from the S2 trailer that [sp]Vincent is going to be played by Taka doing the Alucard voice[/sp] and you bait and switch for yet another voice and personality that's so utterly "meh".
It's like this series outright REFUSES to be any better than mediocre. It's not bad, but it's just barely funny enough to make you smile every now and then, though mostly if you've played the damn game before. If you haven't, then good luck.
DBZA and Hellsing Abridged had the commonality of superb TFS humor, a talented voice cast, and was entertaining on its own to the point of drawing in people that have never seen the source material. I personally have never watched the original Hellsing Ultimate, but tune in every year for the abridged series because it's THAT good. Same with the (mostly) unrelated SAO Abridged.
Machinabridged feels so amateur by comparison. If not for the knowledge that some professional voices were scattered throughout and the quality of editing and VFX features in the intros and character cards...
Like, I don't know. It's just not all that funny. The characters aren't good enough. It feels like this could be so much better than it is, even if it feels like they're following the plot of the game just fine.
Idunno i havent played much of ff7 at all and im quite enjoying it

You take things way too seriously
FF7:A feels like a nice side-project they can provide to fans while they make the great ass series that are Hellsing and DBZ.
It doesn't seem to require as much effort and time as the big series so I'm fine with them having a more loose interpretation and exaggerating the characters. I actually caught off guard by [sp]Vincent's Barney voice, which I totally okay with it since the whole brooding emo was already done to death. And giving him Alucard's voice would just make him Alucard, not Vincent. Also the sneak peek of Cid's voice was also nice[/sp] Too much of a one thing, as good as it is, gets boring or stale over time. Not to mention, it would lose it's individuality.
It's a nice fun in-between for fans and a less stressful project to voice for the cast. I mean, Lani uses his normal voice in Season 1 during the meetings of the corporate dudes.
You can criticize the series as much as you want, Vigilante, but in the end, it still is content they are willing to provide while they are making the big ass projects that will require their 110+%. It has flaws, yes. It's predictable at times, yes! But it is enjoyable if you loosen it up.
Follow Tuskin's advice.

Plus, they don't have to worry about copyright strikes because SE seems to be okay with it (they are selling the music and giving SE a cut of the profits).
Does it suck that Vincent isn't [sp]Alucard?[/sp] Yes, but it's understandable why they did change it. Plus, they can easily have [sp]Alucard!Vincent[/sp] when/if he transforms.
And besides, one of the best characters is joining soon. Unfortunately it isn't the Tankceratops.

Wait, really?

Yeah, apparently at least. Amazon, iTunes, and Google Play have it there for a while, and SE did sponsor the FF14 playthrough, so it's fair to say that Square Enix and Team Four Star are okay with each other.

While FF7MA is lower quality than HUA and DBZA, it's still good and funny.
