Liverpool - A man has entered a building with a 'suspect' package and is refusing to leave, no idea what is in the package but most of the city has been put on lockdown in the event that it is a bomb.

Merseyside Police is dealing with a “security alert” at Silkhouse Court, an office block on Tithebarn Street in Liverpool city centre - writes Joe Thomas.
All employees have been directly accounted for.
No-one has been injured.
Responding to the claims, a huge police presence has cordoned off Tithebarn Street, including at its junctions with Chapel Street, Bixteth Street and Exchange Street East.
That cordon has since been extended to its junction with Pall Mall.
The suspect is still inside Silkhouse Court.
Police negotiators are “seeking direct contact with him”
Merseytravel says services at nearby Moorfields are unaffected, but Old Hall Street entrance is closed.

Going back to uni there tomorrow. Its quite an odd area were this is happening
Was driving by there yesterday as it happened. Apparently he was mad about an insurance claim or something and threatened to blow the place up, but didn't have a bomb. Most of the city wasn't put on lockdown really, just that particular block had police tape and they were getting people out of where they had cordoned off.
