didn't even realise it was out on the xbone
looks like a perfect port of the pc version tbh, last time I played it still had all of these issues. nothing was more fun than abusing the horrible vehicle physics with a truck though, you could slam other players cars through the map if you drove fast enough. The input latency was really only a thing when driving, though that's been an issue for a long time.
I don't understand how devs can release a game in a state like this
Community manager says its a "soft launch" what ever that means, so its not the final version but they are happy for it to be out in the open? Who knows.
I bet they'll just add more shit to the ARMAS Marketplace instead of fixing any of the problems the game has right now.
APB was never intended for consoles. Plus I find it funny how GamersFirst basically said that PC users will not be able to have their characters or purchased stuff on the console versions and that they're entirely seperate from each other.
Community manager says its a "soft launch" what ever that means, so its not the final version but they are happy for it to be out in the open? Who knows.
Basically it means that its only available to download if your xbox is set to a specific region. However GamersFirst tried to pull the game after some serious loading issues occured but apparently the company they did an agreement with for the publishing doesnt want it to be pulled, guessing cause they get a cut of the armas purchases on consoles. In the end it was greed that fucked this up.
I have other a thousand hours on this piece of shit. Why is it on Xbox.
Oh so it's just regular old APB, with the terrible vehicle combat, bad shooting, bad map, bad performance and no new content in five years?
Holy shit the dog shit graphics are truly something to behold.
yeah the game's most fun because of shit like this that constantly happens: [t]http://images.akamai.steamusercontent.com/ugc/504696277661052072/FE5848D40ECC204D48EB91DE040A612CDD7E24DD/[/t] If anything this game lets you create these masterpieces: [t]http://images.akamai.steamusercontent.com/ugc/504696136270197536/B5841D27289D2ED6D4D2C10EB81F7B9497588EE8/[/t] [t]http://images.akamai.steamusercontent.com/ugc/504696136238682713/463228160781C9535D67C5FE4A7762E088B2645A/[/t] but MAN fuck the actual shooting of the game, like it genuinely was anti-fun. People with gusn bought from MArketplace would nuke you from across the map no matter what, and barely ever I had a chance to properly beat them in a fight, and the shooting itself just wasn't really that good. Driving was pretty weird but bizarre physics made up for it because you could create your own space programs by crashing a vehicle into a van and it would fling off into space. [editline]12th June 2016[/editline] oh and music editor was fucking awesome, I had Battlefield theme on constant loop during battles playing from my car, that's genuinely a lot of fun
i miss when this game was new and fun. some of my best runs in this game was as a cop with tasers or bean bag guns, stunning and arresting criminal scum with overpowered weapons. arresting would give them like x3 respawn time or something unless someone uncuffed them.
The most fun thing about this game was blowing up cars and killing other players (with assistance of vehicles) with a dump truck. But I'm curious now, does this overlooked problem still exist on PC?
But I'm curious now, does this overlooked problem still exist on PC?
It's a feature, what are you talking about?

I've always been rather fond of APB:Reloaded for some reason, but sadly it's one of those games wheter you either keep up with it all the time to have a chance to beat the big players, or you just quit Strangely enough, G1 has talked a lot of shit regarding Deep Silver's behaviour on their blogpost. Greed does really fuck things up.
well about 3 years ago when I played it last time I always tried to steal one of these and just blow up every single car in my way, and it was incredible
You can still do that. In the map showcased in the thumbnail, you can actually completely block one street if you manage to get a hold of all 4 dumptrucks on the map
Whoever ported the Xbox One version fucked up big time. The only improvement if at all here is the lighting and even then it's still a bit overly bloom-y.
on the bright side, i don't have to put my pc through hell just play
Hasn't the performance of APB on PC only got worse over time?
The most fun thing about this game was blowing up cars and killing other players (with assistance of vehicles) with a dump truck. This is the only game that drove me to start griefing people because murdering people and their vehicles with the dump truck was just too fucking hilarious.

There were so many aimbots in that game. I tried playing it seriously for a while & got like silver tier (faintly recall the ranking system. I believe it was 3 tier). Surprised they were able to make a deal to get that game on xbox one LOL. Most fun part was messing around with friends. I think we'd try to spectate criminals doing crimes, go after bounties, or crash into ongoing chase participants ,& crash into vehicles into the wall with a dump truck near gunfights... rarely if I crashed into the right stuff; I'd go flying into the air which was cool.
Why does it look like dog shit compared to the PC version
Why does it look like dog shit compared to the PC version
Because the port is horrible, of course.
Hasn't the performance of APB on PC only got worse over time?
It sure has, I can't play it anymore because it stutters insanely every time I try to move. It freezes for like 5-10 seconds, I can't go anywhere, shit hardly streams in content and I fall through the ground, driving is impossible because of the stuttering, it's just horrible. Funny thing is, I had no problem with it an year ago.
Probably the only good thing about this game is the customization.
Probably the only good thing about this game is the customization.
And the concept. The concept is fucking great, if it was properly realized by an actual good developer, it could be an incredible game.
The most fun thing about this game was blowing up cars and killing other players (with assistance of vehicles) with a dump truck. But I'm curious now, does this overlooked problem still exist on PC?
Man this brings back memories. APB may have not been a good game, but I don't think I've laughed as much while playing a game as I have when doing shit like this and creating roadblocks out of NPC cars and watching people in car chases slam into them
Hasn't the performance of APB on PC only got worse over time?
Yes it has, from random stutters to bluescreens and freezes caused by APB, you can only run the game at a stable high framerate (without compromising graphics quality) if you have a high end CPU with a fast enough clock speed, since the game can only take advantage of one single core and doesn't really use the GPU outside of shaders & textures. The unreal engine currently used for the PC version of APB is a very early unreal 3 build with a lot and I mean a lot of custom code implemented from Real Time Worlds. And if I recall they only have one person from RTW working at G1/Reloaded who knows portions of the code at best. Ontop of that the code was described as being a massive nightmare of spaghetti code that just went all over the place with a shit-ton of workarounds that weren't really fixes. So any changes anywhere could basically break everything, hence the excuses for the lack of content, even though they're sitting on a lot of content thats never seen the light of day, but can't implement because the game will simply just break. We're yet to see the very last 2 specialist contacts because adding them would break the game apparently (They've been in the character select screens for a long fucking time now). Plus a known hacker among the APB community found a lot of functions for unreleased contact mods like improved air control, which he happily took advantage of when ruining peoples games. But honestly it's a massive shame, because G1/Reloaded couldn't be fucked to explain any of these problems in any detail because of a so called NDA, and then now when they try to briefly explain it in tl;dr like answers, they are met with massive hostility from its own community because of how bad things have gotten and how badly the xbox one version is right now. We've waited since 2013 for this shit, and this is what it's turning out to be. Guess the rumors about G1 going bust are looking to be true.
