To me this feels like the Ghostbusters reboot, just a giant middle finger to the people who worked on the previous iteration. And the fans of Prey.

The original is a FPS where you are some random dude trapped in an alien space ship/station during an invasion and this one is basically the same, except the invasion part. The first one had weird gravity, portals and spirit walk and here it is still unclear what will gameplay be about. Only thing clear clear is aliens are running some experiments. This could be some kind of prequel explaining why the invasion in the original even took place, why were they kidnapping people. Remember for Prey 2 the only connection was the airplane part. Of course this is just guessing, maybe there was already some news that confirmed the game will have absolutely no connection with the first one, and I missed it.

All the footage was scripted garbage and Bethesda canned the whole thing to give it to a more competent crew the same way they canned Doom and gave it to a more competent crew (read: they fired management), and look how well the latter turned out.

I'm legitimately saddened by this video because I have been waiting for anything Prey 2/Prey sequel because Prey is one of my all time favorite games, and knowing this isn't even a part of the original franchise now makes me wonder why they even used the name Prey... I mean, it's Arkane. It's going to be pretty good, but it's not going to be the game I was hoping for at all.

I thought Prey was alright and all, but I don't give a shit what they call this or that it has nothing to do with the last game. It looks dope. People are too upset over what ultimately boils down to a title.

Straight up this game could be fucking awesome, it's just it being an in name only reboot that rubs me the wrong way. That and it just being a reboot in general.
