The first two books are out with the third one well on it's way. The narrative ispresented to us by the main character Kvothe at the end of his adventures, as he tells his story to a chronicler over a span of three days, going back and forth between the story itself and the Waystone inn, where Kvothe calmly tells the tale of his extraordinary life and exploits. It's a (mildly put) gripping tale and a refreshing way to present a story. Martin Had this to say about The Wise Man's Fear in his personal blog: [THE WISE MAN’S FEAR] was worth the wait. I gulped it down in a day, staying up almost to dawn reading, and I am already itching for the next one. He's bloody good, this Rothfuss guy.” ]George R. R. Martin “So GRRM Likes it, so what? Why should I read it? Without giving any specific spoilers, I'd say that if you've ever wanted to read a book about a brilliant young man going through the Maesters training in Oldtown, but with more magic, this is definitely gonna be a series to your liking. “More Magic, so it's high Fantasy then?” Well, yes and no. The world at large is certainly Low-magic, but the story is set right in the center of what little Magic there is, and the nature of most magic is very scientifically oriented. I'm making this thread now because the Movie, Series and game rights have officially been snatched up!
Lindsey Beer, one of the writers who is working on Transformers 5, has been tapped to adapt the first book of Patrick Rothfuss’ best-selling fantasy trilogy The Kingkiller Chronicle for Lionsgate. Robert Lawrence, whose credits include 1995 classic Clueless as well as the Robert Redford-James Gandolfini drama The Last Castle, is producing. Lionsgate has a multi-pronged plan on adapting the epic fantasy book and simultaneous developing movies, television series and video games. Beer is emerging not only as a rising writer, but with a focus on geek-oriented material she also is a rare female voice in what is normally a male-dominated field. On top of working on Transformers, for example, she also wrote drafts of Legendary’s Pacific Rim 2.
I have honestly no idea how well know this book series is here on Facepunch, but I've never met anyone here in Norway that have read it, which saddens me. If nothing else, I hope this thread inspires more people to check out the books. It's definitely my favorite books out there right now and I hope to god the movies can live up to them. The Author Patrick Rothfuss have reassured the fans that he will have a lot of creative control over the project to ensure his vision makes the leap to visual media as smooth as possible So What do you guys think? Have anyone read the books? Are you hyped for the movies or dreading them? I'd like to start the Discussion, for the people that have read the books Book2 Spoilers: [sp]Who the fuck is Master Ash? Why does he make Denna research Laenre? Could he be connected to the Amyr? Does he purposefully make Denna present Laenre in a good light? Does he work for the Chandrian? What do you guys think? [/sp]
Denna is a cunt and when people criticize her the author calls those people sexist instead of actually talking about why she acts the way she does. doesnt really make me want to read his books tbh
