WEST PHILADELPHIA - March 21, 2013 (WPVI) -- Philadelphia police have arrested a French national after he impersonated a pilot on a US Airways flight last night.
Police say 61-year-old Philippe Jernnard LaRocelle, France boarded a West Palm Beach, Florida bound US Airways flight at approximately 6:20 pm. Wednesday wearing what appeared to be an Air France pilot's uniform.
He was a ticketed passenger and police say he somehow talked his way into the cockpit, settling into the jump-seat behind the captain's seat.
When the actual pilot entered the cockpit, Jennard identified himself as a 747 pilot for Air France.
When Jeannard could not produce proper credentials he was asked to take his seat.
Police were called and he had already taken off the uniform.
When arrested, Jeannard was in possession of a counterfeit Air France crewmember identification card.
He is charged with criminal trespassing, breaking into a structure, forgery-alter writing, tampering with records or ID, false impression, and false identification to law enforcement.
He has been arraigned and is being held on $1-million bail.
Not stupid, just less paranoid.
not letting people pretend to be things is such paranoia, god i hope all these tinfoil hatted idiots dont last more than a generation
I dunno I think paranoia is good sometimes
like there are times when people pretending to be things just pretend and leave it at that, which is fine, but some times the people pretending to be things decide to blow up and that is not so fine
Was expecting Remi Gaillard after reading the title.
1 million bail, nice.
He needs to be younger and better looking
People are several times more likely to trust a handsome young man, some of the most successful serial killers used their looks to lure victims (Ted Bundy, etc)
