• Playing my first show in 10 days - Any Advice??

I am lead guitar for my band Arcadia Terrace. We play metal/metalcore and I like to do some shred work in there too. I'm already getting hella nervous, afraid I'm gonna fuck up on my solos. Can anyone give me some advice?
Keep practicing until you go out. Warmup. Be confident in yourself, seriously, if you think you're going to fuck up, you probably will.
Don't be nervous, remember, YOU'RE the badass on stage. YOU'RE the motherfucker in charge.
Just make sure you're comfortable with what you're playing at home. Make sure you're practicing while standing or doing whatever you're going to do on stage. As a lead guitarist, there's not much you can do stage-presence-wise while you're playing because you should focus on your playing, but put your leg up on a monitor and grin at the audience and get to work :v:. Don't stand completely still, people are going to see a show as well as listen to your music. If you do fuck up at all, trust me on this, hardly anyone will notice. Whenever I play live I notice when I fuck up, but nobody ever mentions it and they just say how awesome it sounded. Just make sure you have fun and enjoy yourself. That's what live music is all about.
if you fuck up just yell fuck into the microphone [editline]12th May 2011[/editline] really fucking loud
Don't practice for an hour before you go onstage, you'll just get nervous. Have one beer before you go on, not enough to feel it, but enough for it to loosen you up a bit. If you fuck up don't show it. Chanced are people won't know your songs so they won't notice it. They WILL notice your face though. Don't shoegaze the whole time. Move around somewhat, make some eye contact. Look like you give a fuck. Have fun :v:
