Uh-oh. On the day of our national strike, too. Probably unrelated, but shit has happened for less important stuff in the past.
Fast-translation of the article :
Holy shit, friends of mine live on the Pilorijnstraat.

The Dutch public broadcast news is pretty much as unbiased as it gets most of the time. It's an excellent source.
Hostage situations never work out for the criminals.
Holy shit, friends of mine live on the Pilorijnstraat.
One of my sisters lives there as well atm. It's scary to think that this could have happened at her place.
It turned out to be fake, some student called it in as a prank.
It turned out to be fake, some student called it in as a prank.
I don't know why anyone would fake such a story, let alone after the recent incident in Sydney. This is mostly unwise and the person should be put on trial. If this is the truth.

The hostage situation was resolved in the evening of the same day. And yes, NOS is the most reliable & unbiased source. The most unbiased, not fully unbiased. Every news source leans to right or left wing, but NOS manages to stay pretty neutral most of the time. Besides, they don't blatantly copy 'news' from tweets either - they verify first. That's why they're rarely first with the news, but once NOS publishes it the whole Netherlands know it's truth.
