using 2 midi controllers at once in fruity loops 11
7 replies, posted
I just got a second midi controller. They both work seperatly, but I cant use them at once.
Can somebody tell me how I can use them both at the same time?
For example; playing some notes on the midi keyboard and then jamming a beat with the midi pad.
Controllers: AKAI LPK 25 and AKAI LPD 8.
Thanks in advance.
You can tell the midi controllers to use specific channels, then tell the VSTs/instruments to receive data from those channels
ive read something about that indeed, but i cant figure out how to change those channels
It'll depend on your midi controller if you can change it to output specific channels on the hardware, but on the VST side, click on the settings cog in the top left of the wrapper, then change this input port setting (ignore the left window):

I'll see whether FL Studio can force the midi controller to be a certain midi channel.

Oh yeah you totally can set the port of the midi input!

Right of where they're enabling the controller and setting the type, that port number.
I cant manage to open the windows shown in the 1st image, are those from the controllers them selves or for example from an empty Sampler or Layer?
My current midi settings,

Information that might come in handy: I dont have a CD drive so I havent installed my controllers. I just put them in the usb slots.
Btw, this is MistaMustache but on my other account. I tought I lost the password but I managed to retrieve it.
In the first image ignore that left window. You click the Wrapper Options button on the VST you want to control. And set the Input Port to a specific number.
On your screenshot, on the row that says Enable, Controller Type (generic controller) then Port, change the port number to the same number as the one you just set for the VST.
Then choose different port numbers for the other controller you have.
