• My job dilemma

So around the first month or so of summer, I was in desperate need of a job. After putting in applications everywhere, I finally landed an interview at Sonic, a fast food joint, for my first ever job. After two interviews, I got the job, and was excited as hell to start. Fast forward to today. Around an hour ago, Red Robin, a sit in restaurant, called me to schedule an interview for Monday. I applied to be a bus boy there, as opposed to my already secured position of drink maker guy at Sonic. The problem. I don't know what to do. I'm already scheduled to work open to close on weekends and after school to whenever on school days at Sonic. Red Robin would definitely pay more though because I'd be earning both my hourly wage plus tips. Not the case at Sonic. However, my close friend was also hired at Sonic for the same position as me, and it'd be fun to work with him. I don't know if I could work both jobs because of school. So if I were to get hired at Red Robin in addition to Sonic, should I quit Sonic or refuse the job at Red Robin?
Work at Red Robin for more money. Its what i would do
drink maker guy sounds like a pretty cool job. work with your friend, keep the bird in hand
Drink Maker sounds like a way more fun job than Busboy. Also, you get to work with your friend, so that's good.
Go for the busboy. You get more money.
See if you even get the job at red robin before you think about switching jobs.
work at both, if you can arrange your hours
Stay at your current job, but get some time off so you can have the interview. Keep working, and if you get the bus boy job, take it, if not, you've still got your current job.
Working isn't really meant to be social time, so I'd say go for the bus boy job.
My sister worked at a Sonic for a bit and she really liked it.
do the job you prefer, it's not all about the money, it's about the enjoyment of the job
Bus boy, paid me a well 10$/hrs, it was pretty much running around for 12hrs a day aswell as cleaning the dishes. Let me tell you that I did not really like it. If I was you, I'd keep the drink maker job, more enjoyable and you can be with friends.
Red robin has better food, work for them.
deffo work at sonic barmen get all the chicks (im joking you're probably a nerd)

I'd say stick with Sonic and work with your friend.

One of my friends is a bus boy at a different restaurant and he's rolling in cash.
Yeah, often you get paid below minimum wage but you make up for it in tips (in America). But what would I know, I'm a young English chap and regardless, I should be playing croquet, and not parleying with you Yanks. Toodlepip!
The busboy job has lot more room for advancement while the Sonic one is pretty dead end. Waiter/Waitress is one of the best jobs you can get working through college (if your planning to go) and many places will only hire for that if you already work there as a busboy. So I would suggest doing the interview and taking the job if offered.

Depending on how much money they offer you as a busboy, tell 'em at the interview that you already have a stable job and that you would like to discuss the offered salary a little bit before considering leaving your current job... see if you can squeeze a few more bucks out of that salary they initially offered you... If they're Ok with that and you feel that the salary discussed is great for you, then I'd suggest you take the plunge Not only you would get a better job (as some people above said), but you'd be earning more money than you expected at first
I've never thought of it that way, that's probably the most helpful thing anyone's said.
I'm in college right now and trust me... almost no places at all (especially in this economy) will hire someone for waiter if they have no experience and don't already work there as busboy. Hell, I couldn't even find a busboy position. There are pretty rare themselves. Consider yourself lucky you even have a shot at it. I have a buddy that works at Famous Dave's as a waiter (after working as a busboy) and makes 100+ every night on tips.
I'd go for Red Robin. It has a nice atmosphere, and every time I've been to Sonic, there were just asshats in their 4-wheel drive trucks demanding food and checking out the waitresses. Also, I think you need to learn how to rollerskate to work at Sonic.
Sonic is fucking great and red robin sucks dong so go for sonic.

I work at a fast food restaurant, do you fucking think I'm Einstein?
