Grabbin' bills
i dont get why everyone hates activision for doing what theyre supposed to do(make money) people like their games so i dunno why everyone has to have a giant stick up their ass. you can choose not to purchase their games. [editline]14th August 2011[/editline] but on topic: i laughed at the video
I don't hate Activision, but Bobby Kotick is a grubby moneylord.
I don't hate Activision, but Bobby Kotick is a grubby moneylord.
i guess. but you cant expect him to be much less considering he is a ceo and president of a large corporation. its like hating the grass for being green.
That picture of Kotick never gets old...
its like hating the grass for being green.
its actually like hating greedy people for being greedy :(
its actually like hating greedy people for being greedy :(
even if he wasnt a greedy person he would still be forced to act in a greedy fashion because of his job's requirements.
and i could hate him because he chose a greedy job which would reflect his personality as a greedy person
and i could hate him because he chose a greedy job which would reflect his personality as a greedy person
if we didnt have those jobs you wouldnt have games to play
Watching this video: only $19.99 for 1 week
if we didnt have those jobs you wouldnt have games to play
Indie companies do well, and small companies.
Activision's job isn't to make games anymore, there only job is to make the share-holders money. But Bobby Kotick is a big windbag.
The main problem with Activision and other company's like it is that they compromise on there games to make money, cut it up into DLC packs or make hype about features that they have already cut from the game. Games are supposed to be a art form, limited only by peoples imagination. They have forgotten this and are just doing the same old drivel that they can make money off. they need to take a leap of faith and create something completely new and not just let indie developers do it and then mainstream there idea 5 years later.

[editline]14th August 2011[/editline] but on topic: i laughed at the video
because capitalism doesnt encourage good games. EA and activision can both go fuck themselves.
i dont get why everyone hates activision for doing what theyre supposed to do(make money)
They're supposed to make great games that people will play right up until the next one comes out. But, they make let-down games that people expect to be good, and the people buy them, thus Activision makes money. Come on, people. Admit it, Black Ops sucked. I haven't even touched Black Ops in months. [editline]14th August 2011[/editline] TreArc lost it after CoD 3.
Making overpriced, overhyped, M-rated games every year with few massively overpriced DLCs each for target audience that's around 13 years old and false advertisement isn't "the way how it's done". It can be done like that, but I'd rather buy from someone who makes games that are supposed to be bought because they are fun, not because they were advertised as the "most realistic and innovative, best game ever" and don't live up to it.
He has the seediest and creepiest face...
They dont need to spend to much money on a game that they know lots of people will buy even tough they put little effort on it. The franchise is successful and that what matters, a successful project. I think you guys should stop being naive on thinking that every game corporation/developer should be like Valve.
money money money
I hear Koticks wallet is obese because he force feeds it money

Following your logic you can't dislike a thief or a scammer for earning money as long as they are successful at it.
i dont get why everyone hates activision for doing what theyre supposed to do(make money)
Because they charge 15$ for a small map pack, which is pretty much what you'd pay for new indie games or expansion packs for AAA titles.
I don't hate Activision, but Bobby Kotick is a grubby moneylord.
But he's also doing the equivalent of selling Ant Poison to Ants. You know, the kind Ants think is food, takes back to their nest, its consumed and kills the ants. Activision is doing just that, Putting out increasingly boring, rehashed and re-used games, with more DAY ONE DLC that was NEVER heard of 6 or so years ago, Map Packs of maps that are even on the original fucking disc in your hands for $15... Just slowly killing the wallet, respect if any towards activision, their image, and so on... EA was like that, but they turned over a new leaf a year ago, and then somewhere over spring time said FUCK THIS SHIT and went back to their old dickish ways, especially with this Origin shit. Ubisoft is doing something similar but with their Always On DRM that can be interrupted by a simple DDoS attack from a couple people and cause all legit owners to not be able to play... Activision is on the very bottom of the list, man
"Its just a business its what they do make money hurr durr" That's true, but you don't have to be a massive moneygrubbing dickhole to be successful and actually have good public relations. Look at Valve, the most generous company I know. They give free shit away on a daily basis and still make tons of money.
