Rapine –noun the violent seizure and carrying off of another's property; plunder. Generalissimo –noun, plural -mos. (in certain countries) the supreme commander of the armed forces. Confirmation codes are just getting annoying. Who agrees? Edit: and I wasn't sure if those where even words at first
I agree. They're annoying. Sometimes I'll even be sure that I have the all right and It'll be like "Nope try again lololol!"
Now they are just becoming very unreadable to the human eye (on google at least)
They should repeat codes. Only crazy people would memorize what capthca did they type.
I had one that said "gaylord 34,800".
It improves my vocabulary.
It's from a book, that's why the words are too complicated for you.
What are you talking about, I love attempting to decypher what jibberish they've hidden behind scribbles then failing and trying again just so I can download a patch.
They are annoying. That's because programmers are getting smarter, and making better bots. So suddenly, even though you may have a good captcha you get all this "Michael is Dead??? Ans" threads.
Just to download a patch, why not go to Filefront or Gamershell where you do not have to enter Captcha to download things
I keep failing them, am I a robot? I didn't even know :(
Most of those codes I can't even read myself. Fucking unreadable. They need a better way to stop robots.
You're increasing your vocabulary while a website gains security. What is the fucking problem?
raping general issimo
You're increasing your vocabulary while a website gains security. What is the fucking problem?
Knowing words does not mean you know the definitions :downs:
For some sites they may help, but I don't understand why shitty V-bulletin forums about some menial topic needs them. And the fact that they make them less and less readable every damn time I need to enter one is a little stupid.
I saw one that required me to type a ridiculously long world (about 15 characters) and then it gave me a number like 17,000. so I typed exactly "17,000" and it failed. Trying again and again and it still failed. Apparently I wasn't supposed to put the comma. THE COMMA WAS IN THE FUCKING CAPTCHA! HOW WAS I SUPPOSED TO KNOW?!
I really like ReCaptcha though, their confirmation system is great unlike many others.
they could easily just do something else, like make it a math problem, or get better fucking security i hate posting like 2 youtube comments and seeing some warped words an autistic kid scribbled on that i have to write out. the least they could do is make it less letters, so we don't have to start over because one of the letters looks like a bug that's been stepped on
I wish someone could come up with a different method than captcha and still be effective.
Knowing words does not mean you know the definitions :downs:
Our friendly OP has gone and found the definitions of said CAPTCHA, so my reply still stands.
What would suck is if you got something like this
Our friendly OP has gone and found the definitions of said CAPTCHA, so my reply still stands.
I don't care what he's done, I don't google every word I have to type in for the stupid authentication because I have better things to do, it's not expanding my vocabulary and it generally makes me not use the site again.
What would suck is if you got something like this
That's a very stupid idea. A bot would figure that out before us.

I don't mind them so much except when they become un-readable.
At first they were made so bots couldn't read them. Now even humans can't read them
I really hate it when it's impossible to get it right. Funny how they are supposed to keep bots away but when they are too hard they push the real users away too.
Honestly i agree. comfermation codes are pretty annoying. Many bots can get around them.
I hate them too. especially when they are case sensitive.
