UKIP leadership hopeful Steven Woolfe has been ruled "ineligible" to stand in the contest to replace Nigel Farage - after he submitted his papers late.
The party's NEC said it had voted by a "clear majority" to exclude Mr Woolfe - previously seen as the frontrunner.
The MEP said he was "extremely disappointed" by the decision, and three NEC members have quit in protest.
Jonathan Arnott, Bill Etheridge, Diane James, Lisa Duffy, Phillip Broughton and Elizabeth Jones are on the ballot.
but we all know he's really been disqualified for that fukkin disgraceful suit wtf is up with that green

It seems like a minor reason to disqualify him but at the same time if they impose a deadline they need to enforce it if someone misses it.
Plus its UKIP so he would have been shit anyway.
Too bad. Imagine if he was elected PM, he would always be late to meetings.
Even if it's UKIP that's still a pretty shitty reason.
Can UKIP really afford to be picky about who it lets run for leadership?

Deadlines are an important red line to draw. I don't really feel sympathy for someone who waited until the last minute to submit something only to have the deadline pass them by. When it comes to politics though, there is almost always something else going on in the background when this happens. Sometimes you need a certain amount of people to sign a petition or you need to be polling at a certain percentage. In this case it seems the candidate was deliberately obstructed (according to him at least).

Does Farage like this guy or not? Seems to be a lot of internal turmoil in the party.

Not entirely sure but UKIP certainly seem to possess their fair share of self destruction.
Deadlines are deadlines, you give this guy leeway for 17 mins then someone else comes in at 20 mins next time then half hour so on and so forth, where do you draw the time.
He had bloody ages to put himself and he left it late, no sympathy.
