• PETA Attacks Nintendo For Pokemon Black 2/White 2, Says It Promotes Animal Abuse
Much like animals in the real world, Pokémon are treated as unfeeling objects and used for such things as human entertainment and as subjects in experiments. The way that Pokémon are stuffed into pokéballs is similar to how circuses chain elephants inside railroad cars and let them out only to perform confusing and often painful tricks that were taught using sharp steel-tipped bullhooks and electric shock prods …if PETA existed in Unova, our motto would be: Pokémon are not ours to use or abuse. They exist for their own reasons. We believe that this is the message that should be sent to children. - PETA statement Talk about being a little overboard. I'm all about animal rights, but this is too silly. PETA even made a Pokemon Black/White 2 spoof game to detail how they feel about the title. You can play it yourself after the jump. Thanks to all that sent this in!
Fashionably late as usual PETA http://www.gonintendo.com/?mode=viewstory&id=187312
The more they suffer the better they fight! :smug:
Don't PETA basically already exist in Unova though?
Yeah killing thousands of animals isn't animal abuse either
After I played Pokémon I bought two roosters and had a cockfight in my back yard.
Why would they support Team Plasma? [sp]Their Pokemon liberation campaign was a ruse so they could easily over power the citizens and take over the region. [/sp]
Why didn't you post a link to the game itself? Here you go
They should watch the TV series, the pokemon seem pretty happy to me.
Don't PETA basically already exist in Unova though?
Yep, and they were the villains too.
Wait so PETA just noticed Pokemon NOW or do they do this for every Pokemon game?
I simply don't get PETA on this. "oh wow I just caught that Pikachu, I'm going to stuff him into this pokeball. oh look, now I want to stuff a real animal into a cage because I played a Pokemon game!" Totally sound logic.
holy shit peta is still alive
Hey PETA, remember when you weren't an attention whore and you were true to your "ideals"? Yeah, me neither.
holy shit peta is still alive
Unfortunately the animals in PETA care are mostly dead.

You'd think all these years people jokingly saying Pokemon promotes animal abuse would give PETA just a little hint that the claim sounds a bit ridiculous to most people.
As the characters in the Pokemon series are quick to point out every fifteen minutes, the Pokemon actually like the battling for the most part and basically exist in harmony with their trainers and grow based off their experience with them.
Oh PETA... You are so late, this is happening since the Pokemon Red and Blue... PETA, you are so slow, what's next? Mario for killing turtles?
Oh PETA... You are so late, this is happening since the Pokemon Red and Blue... PETA, you are so slow, what's next? Mario for killing turtles?
Nah, PETA will attack Zelda because Link is throwing Chickens.
Oh PETA... You are so late, this is happening since the Pokemon Red and Blue... PETA, you are so slow, what's next? Mario for killing turtles?
They did that already.
Nah, PETA will attack Zelda because Link is throwing Chickens.
Except the Chickens are gods.... You can't fight them
Oh PETA... You are so late, this is happening since the Pokemon Red and Blue... PETA, you are so slow, what's next? Mario for killing turtles?
They already harrassed Super Mario 3D Land over the tanuki suit, because it 'promotes wearing fur'. I'm surprised they keep trying to act like they're relevant though.
I thought that Oshawott was wearing some weird coat or something. Then I realized he has been fucking skinned. This is a children's game. What the hell does PETA hope to accomplish?

It took them 15 years to realize this?
They already harrassed Super Mario 3D Land over the tanuki suit, because it 'promotes wearing fur'. I'm surprised they keep trying to act like they're relevant though.
Never Knew that one... So PETA is truly the most Useless thing ever What about Cs_Italy? Where you can kill the chickens... PETA's next target... Anyone have a bet?
I'm getting really sick of PETA trying to get me to look at pictures and videos of bleeding/dying animals...
They got the game mechanics pretty right.. Also there was a part where Pikachu says, "Okay, we're moving on now!" *A WILD SNORLAX APPEARED* Pikachu: No seriously we're moving on. lol http://features.peta.org/pokemon-black-and-white-parody/images/PETAsPokemonCards.pdf

If they were truly doing this for ideals they would've raised their voice when Red and Blue came out. They're acting just like patent trolls
