Here it is finished. I have some progress below however.

Big Images Ahead.

I'm just logging my progress on this and hoping for Crits, Comments, and all around ways to improve. I'm still very new to digital painting and I'm taking this slow. I also know this is really dark, I'll fix it at some point as a I go or at the end with brightness/contrast/levels.
If you've played Majora's Mask (or Ocarina of time), you'd know this man:

Always a very mysterious creepy vibe to this guy, helping to set the mood for the entire game right from the start. I don't know about you but it made me wonder what his full non-existent back story could possibly be. But I digress, he walks off into the sunset and is never seen again.
Well W/E. I decided to do a digital painting of him as general practice and to eventually use as a background. I'm not very far along but I want to post my progress here.
I started with a rough quickly done sketch, I actually spent ac-couple days prior drawing him on my math worksheets at school, trying to study his face and body. calculus Is much less interesting then creepy Asian men in tight purple coveralls.

Big whoop, bland! Doesn't need to be very detailed, I can hammer out any badly detailed areas later on. I corrected inconsistencies in the sketch by mirroring it ac-couple times and editing. Your brain will notice proportion and balance issues a lot easier when a picture is mirrored.
I moved on to making a shitty background, I've got a layout now, I just wanted him floating In a black void from the start, but you can still try and make a black void interesting right? I have a bunch of work done on the face already. I don't have earlier iterations to show, but I re-did the face because the first time I made the mouth to small and his eyes far too low:

Oh no! It's really dark. Depending on the monitor It's hard to see. My monitor is apparently abnormally bright and I didn't quite notice. I moved on to flesh out the face a wee bit more, and move on to the hair, neck, and Jewelery. Here it is at full size:

Charming Isn't He? The Light sources by the way are an ambient green/blue light coming from the right and slightly behind him. The red light is coming from the Mask's eyes. Which are glowing, Next thing I started on was the Mask actually. I re-drew the sketch of the masks face, since it was bugging me how little it showed the contour of the mask surface.

My update may be ready to install but that mask sure isn't. You can see the layers and used and all that hullabaloo in this pic. Which I probably won't go showing again until the end. Currently the mask itself has so many layers I shoved them into their own group.
I'm going to bed, but here's what it looks like right now at full size:

Whoo. The Happy Mask Salesman as a whole is done (Tweaks will continue to be made however). I made some adjustments to the face with helped it balance better which you probably won't notice. And some changes to the coat to make It seem less as if his torso is bending in inhumane ways.
And now hands.
Thoughts, comments, advice would be lovely!
Pretty sure you have mad skills. Also, negative points for being so modest.
This is incredible. I cannot wait to see the finished product!
Looking great so far, and VERY creepy.
Like it, very nice!
I am really looking forward for the finished one
Fucking love it.
This is going to be fucking awesome
I suggest you to do the base colors first and then start with the shading
Use the Color mode in your layer to apply some colors into the character.
Otherwise, it's looking good
Update on the mask:

Whoo.
That is fucking scary !
Childhood memories !

Man now I wanna do one of this but your such a better artist, Nice job.
That guy gave me fucking nightmares as a kid
Kudos for the excellent work, keep it up

Whoooo... Something about his body doesn't feel right. Not sure. Oh and yeah he'll get hands eventually.
If I were you, I would avoid copying the backpack's exact angle and design. I'd at least change the angle, otherwise it's not as impressive as it's just a direct copy which IMO is a bad thing in fan art.
That is my only suggestion though. The rest of it is very well done, and is appropriately in it's own design and angles.
Just be more careful with things like that backpack, and I could be wrong and maybe you changed it by now, but that sketch, yeah it was too much the same (Only the backpack though).

True, I dunno i noticed this as well while doing the initial sketch. his body entitled the same angle.... I dunno I'll see if there's something I can change.
One thought is you can change what masks show, or show them overflowing from another spot.
If you could draw Majora's Mask like that, then you shouldn't have a problem making the other ones from the game.
Nice work.
He looks like a god-damn Pedophile though =/
Nice work.

And that's a problem? Seems to be what I should have been shooting for from the start.

Have you ever played MM?
He's a creepy son of a bitch.

I'm scared
Wait, are you that dude who built himself a plague doctor mask and costume?

Uh naw. To tell ya the truth I don't even know why I have this avatar any longer. I've wanted to change it, but I'm lazy as sin.
I'm scared
You should be.
Not been doing anything but small amounts of cleanup work. I also adjusted the brightness and need to gauge how much it helped. Also remember the entire background would be dark. Having it letter-boxed in all this white doesn't help.

I love Majora's Mask, this is really awesome so far. I want a wallpaper when you finish.
Guy WAS pretty creepy.
the hands are awesome, good job dude!
This looks awesome. You also gave me inspiration to do fan-art of TLOZ now :D
I didn't feel like leaving this dead forever. Gotta trudge on. So here's a Deku mask I did to add to his bag!
