My little brother's friend from kindergarten came over today and I noticed her incredibly unique eyes.
I was quite lucky with this shot, as she was very shy and wouldn't talk to me at all haha. She's about 2-3 years old, I reckon.
Anyhow, regular workflow, some fixing with the curves in Photoshop. No excessive editing, in other words.
Here are the camera settings for those interested:
Shutter speed: 1/400
ISO: 400
Aperture value: 5,6

Saw this beautiful mix of eye candy on the skies, and fortunately I had my trusty D90 on me.
This picture reminds me of my childhood in Hungary. I used to lie on the beach in Balaton, observing the sky.
It was so overwhelming for me back then, and it is still overwhelming at times.
This has been edited a little. I added some grain and fickled with the adjustment layers.
Camera settings:
Shutter speed: 1/125
Aperture value: 22
ISO: 200

Little something something I shot during midsummer.
I really like both.
Those clouds are incredibly thick. The girl is really cute. Nice candid shot :)
Thank you! I just wish there were more interesting motives around where I live.
I am however planning to visit a sunflower field, but it's kind of a generic motive also. I guess I'll just make the best out of it, somehow.
I hope it's okay if I bump for criticism, I only received one comment :(.
I'll bump for you. I know the feeling of having your threads ignored
Looking forward to those sunflower pictures.
Fantastic photos
One tip; never use an aperture higher than 16; past that, on any lens, no matter how good it is, you get massive degradation in sharpness.
Also, on the shot of the clouds, there seems to be a lot of quality loss or noise or something. It's weird because the D90 has pretty good high-ISO performance, and you shot at ISO 200, anyway. Look in to that.
Otherwise, these shots are pretty good, try and make the compositions a bit more interesting and you'll start getting really great shots.
the grain on the clouds is really distracting, like Kag said. That picture also bugs me because of the black border things. There's been a running joke about how adding the top/bottom bars is a cheap way to make any picture feel 'cinematic', which is more or less saying "It's fancy because I say it is".
Not saying that's the case most of the time, I'm just saying borders on any level always end up looking pretentious and "hey look at me I made an art!", nomatter what your intention is.
...also I like the level editing on the child, it really brings out the picture. Composition is a little too in-your-face, but it's still good.

Thank you :).
So am I :D, I'm longing to get there. Just waiting for better weather, it's very grey in Sweden where I live at the moment.

Thank you!

Wow, thank you for the advice. I didn't know that about aperture.
Grain was edited in Photoshop, if read below the picture. Maybe you missed that part out :P. I guess it kind of failed, now that I look at it. Thank you for pointing that out.
I appreciate your compliments, and about the composition, any pointers on how to make it more interesting?

I agree, in retrospect I think it looks tacky as hell. It was just an impulse when I added it. Maybe I need to start taking ritalin :geno:. lol
I would love to hear anything that could help me improve, especially when it comes to composition.
I'm really repeating myself, but I truly am thankful for your compliments and the pointing out what's bad/good! :)
