[QUOTE]The previous record for the hottest December night in Sydney was set in 1868, when a minimum temperature of 26.3 degrees Celsius was recorded across the night. The lowest temperature reached was 27.1C at Sydney Observatory Hill between 9:00am Tuesday and 9:00am today. The overnight heat also makes it the second hottest night on record for any month of the year, a BOM spokesperson said. Oh wow, that's like an average night in Death Valley over here. And 1868? Holy shit.
what happened in 1868 to make it so hot back then?
Don't think it was record setting but it felt boiling as shit in Melbourne yesterday too. Accidentally overheated my motorbike I think as it was just as unhappy as I was.
It was quite hot last night. I'm about 150km from Sydney, but when I was hanging my washing up at 2AM (don't ask) if felt too stuffy to even wear underwear, haha. The temperatures aren't good, it's making fighting bush fires much harder. Climate change does make these sort of hot nights happen much more frequently, but that doesn't mean that they only happen just because of climate change.
Wasn't as bad down in Vic but it was still a disgusting night. Thankfully today suddenly dropped like 14 degress from yesterday.
Didn't really feel that hot, but wow what a record.
You just know climate change deniers are going to cling to this as prove it does not exist I just had an hour long argument with a client change denier who spent the whole time trying to suggest he had the scientifically superior argument
