What I Think: Its a very good movie. Especially for a fan film made by a couple of teenagers. Its good to see a real good Jurassic Park fan film. And i hope you guys will enjoy it.
I thought it was shit.
A couple minutes of skipping ahead and the acting is very poor. The camera angles are uninspiring and the video is a complete waste of time for both the viewers and the producers of the video.

They were 15 bro. And it was made in 06 but got delayed. Cut them some slack.
It seems like something that should've been maybe 10-15 minutes long instead of 40. Cut down the story, just get to the dinosaur stuff, focus on dynamic and interesting camerawork, really polish the CGI and it would've been pretty good. The camerawork in particular just seems really rough, for example there's a lot of annoying weird jump-cuts that completely destroy the flow (especially around the middle). For a production made by a bunch of teenagers though I've definitely seen worse, not to mention they did do some things fairly well like the use of ambient sounds and music.
It wasn't that bad, only thing that really annoyed me was that it sounded/looked like they recorded their voices with a microphone and edited it, I could be wrong though.
The acting was pretty abysmal, lots of plotholes, and a few hilarious "epic fail" moments, like seeing a row of perfect topiary hedges in the background, and at one point seeing a family hiking along the forest path while one of them hid from a velociraptor.
But to the production values? Actually, pretty surprising given their ages and their resources.
These guys got a classroom full of people to act as a backdrop, had access to a plane, at least enough to show the characters getting into it. Access to a boat as well. A lot of these are things I'd be green-screening or doing without if I were doing my own fan-film, yet these kids got them.
And then there's the CGI. The compy we first saw didn't inspire confidence, and they had trouble with most of the larger dinosaurs, but really, I've seen FAR worse attempts to blend CG creatures into live action. My favorite sequences are mostly to do with the raptors, that blend especially well with the footage and genuinely were the best animated. The Pteranadon sequence was very fluid, and felt the most like a movie-scene. I actually let out an "oh, NICE!" when the Spinosaurus showed up, because it was decently animated and looked really nice against the live-action backdrop.
From a technical perspective, this is pretty damn decent given who made it. It's not getting much praise beyond the technicals, but for what it is, I'd be pretty proud if I were them. About a handful of attempts at things like this that aren't even a minute long throughout Youtube, yet they're crap beyond all reason. This is 40 straight minutes of scattered effects shots that stay in the "bearable" to "hey, not bad!" range.
So yeah, cheers to these guys!
We should make our own version starring Garry, Hezzy, and TH89
You can see some people in the background 20 minutes in. I don't know how they didn't seem to notice that. The ending was kinda confusing too, [sp]Is he saying that in reality, they all died despite it showing them escaping?[/sp]
This was pretty shitty.
The poster is more well designed then the 'film' itself tbh. Acting was terrible. Camera work was stiff and the audio was so quiet.
I'm going to watch this whole thing, but six minutes in and I admire the effort they're putting in. That's a lot of work to stage all of those scenes (a full classroom with a teacher, two boats in tandem just for one shot, etc etc). Production quality is iffy (in the restaurant audio is shit), but you can see they tried to have more than one camera angle for the entire scene, and they're building some back story. I think you guys should lighten up and appreciate all the work they put in even if it doesn't look as polished as you're used to seeing from all of the more popular youtube videos of late.
EDIT: And yeah, acting and dialog are pretty bad at times but it's not like they do this for a living.
EDIT2: Okay I finished it and I'm going to say I admire the effort, but it did get a little unbearable. A lot of things didn't make sense, but overall I still admire the effort.
