It's not exactly known to the public what he did actually do, sexual assault is a bit vague.
Also regarding the 5 year sentence I'd say that was about right for someone in their 80's, he could very well die in prison.

Putting him in prison is doing nothing more than giving the victims a sense of justice. His fame and notoriety enabled him to be in a position where he could abuse a child. Now that these allegations are made public nobody in their right mind would ever work with him again, and he certainly wouldn't have access to a child.
If he's not killed in prison there's a fairly high chance he'll die of natural causes anyway.

I trust the justice system in the UK enough to think he was actually guilty and it was not just a bunch of people pretending to me assaulted for attention or settlements.

That was actually the first thing I thought when I heard that a bunch more people had come forward claiming to be victims. I wouldn't be surprised if some of them weren't just trying to get attention or money out of it.

I think there are two perspectives you can see this from. Yours, in which more people are coming forward for attention, or another, where more people come forward because they see others getting justice and finally have the confidence to speak out themselves.
If you have been sexually abused by someone who is well great and has influence, it must be terrifying that a lot of people will automatically be against you and discredit you immediately.

After he was found guilty they said that apparently all the victims (unbeknownst to each other) described the same pattern so it doesn't seem to be a bunch of people just claiming it.
