One Finger Death Punch is the most underrated game 2014. It's so awesome.
Wolfenstein is the only one I've played out of these, but I completely agree with everything he said. Glad it's getting the recognition it deserves.
I feel like I was the only person in existence that didn't like wolfenstein
except for that one guy from a local newspaper that gave it 5/10, but I didn't dislike it that much

I didn't enjoy it either. In fact I quit somewhere in sewers. Hurr hurr Dual Shotguns!

I know, it was too colorfu and too fun and the characters were too relatable and I didn't kill enough brown people or PMC's. 1/10 would not play with Doritos fingers again.
Bit depressing listening to the end of this where he mentions his health. I really hope he recovers.

glad he mentioned old school internet stickman flash animations because the game totally feels like you're playing one of those. i find it really nostalgic and satisfying.

i didn't dislike it at all but i would not call it game of the year tbh, entirely because 90% of the time i felt like everything needed to die just slightly quicker for me to enjoy it as much as i wanted. not because i was having difficulty or anything, but because imo it's not at the Doom level of movement speed where you have to constantly hit and run and wear tougher enemies down, but it's not at the FEAR level of damage where you can kick-flip into a room full of dudes and shoot your way through no problem. in my opinion it should have committed further to one end of the scale.
Because of this video and the fact that Steam is having its encore sale, I picked up both Metal Gear Rising and Wolfenstein.
Wolfenstein TNO was the first game In a long time i was excited about and wasn't disappointed by.
Mechanically it reminded me of what i liked so much about games like FEAR and shit.
Though it would never happen, i wish that game had an SDK. User content for that could've been great.
Too bad that he hasn't played Talos Principle

you should also pick up Ground Zeroes, fantastic port
I actually really enjoyed TNO (first game in a long time that I made an effort to 100%), but I think people overstated it, especially its story and characters. To me the story felt like they were definitely trying to have a good cast and there was definitely some effort put in to them, but it feels like the majority of the character development ended up on the cutting room floor.
TB has such a good taste in games, in my opinion. His opinions are pretty much always agreeable and he's one of the few really popular Youtubers who understands what makes a game good, and what makes a PC port good. Can't get enough of the guy.
I'll never forgive Wolfenstein for all the buildup it had to getting some big fucking gun during the vault level, and then there was nothing there but a mcguffin for the next level

i felt like it was super close to having that perfect gunplay, but there was a lot of bullshit that just felt like somebody sabotaged the game by adding enemies that just felt like full-stop obstacles instead of enemies. also felt like it gave me a lot less health than i expected; i'd get dropped by a single enemy from behind in a fraction of a second when i had overcharged health and a lot of armor. like, the game was encouraging me to run forward and blast guys, but i always had to resort to cover peeking (which wasnt too bad because of that peaking system)
half of the perks in the perk screen were a chore to get and they didn't really make too much of a difference.
still loved it though. redboxxed that shit on PS3, rebought a few days ago in the sale.

Yeah, you can't seperately deactivate the AntiAlias or Depth of Field, the mouse is unprecise as hell when you use a sniper rifle and makes aiming impossible, you can't rebind most of the keys and many other things that makes this a "fantastic" port.
But hey, it runs at a high framerate even on old middle class PCs and looks great!
Seriously, performance doesn't make a good port out of it.
But aside from what I just said, it's a lot of fun and I cannot wait for Phantom Pain.
Wolfenstein was the one game this year I WANTED to buy dlc for. I enjoyed it way too much. I was hoping for some kind of expansion pack or even a sort of "be the bad guy" dlc.
Now I feel bad I didn't buy wolfenstein, and I kinda wanted at first but felt I could need the cash I had at the time for something important... And then I got payed...
Glad that TB is ok aswell!

Agreed. I would have never given it any attention if TB never mentioned it. I bought it for $2.50 and am so glad I did.
I can't believe that I spent 7 hours playing a game where you only click 2 buttons. It's incredibly satisfying dumb fun.

I felt the pacing was off at times with the missions at the home base shoehorned in there, and it didn't help that they felt far longer than the shooting sections (probably because I suck at scavenger hunts and puzzles so it took me ages to complete them)
I was expecting wolfenstein to be bad, played it, loved it.
Def. blew me out of the water, the trailers were absolutely fantastic too. A lot of triple A games couldn't even compare to it.
I thought Wolfenstein was fantastic, the guns felt really great to use and it was a classic FPS no bullshit.
one finger death punch is the shit. i also am just starting to play metal gear rising too. i wanted to try out wolfenstein, but didn't have enough money to buy it during the sale. it'll come back eventually though.

wow! good thing there's a mod to turn off dof while setting everything to high.
I have played zero of these games. I haven't played any of the games making it onto top 2014 lists...

If you're a gamer, you're missing out a lot of great experiences.
When I think about all the stuff that came out this year Wolfenstein is probably the one I enjoyed the most, but that might be I went into it expecting a 6 hour corridor shooter with no story or characters.
