‘Ghostbusters’ Reboot Details Revealed, Paul Feig Wants to Cast Peter Dinklage and Cecily Strong

In an e-mail from director Paul Feig to Sony exec Amy Pascal, the director goes through some ideas for his ‘Ghostbusters’ reboot. You’re warned of [B]spoilers[/B] from here on out.
Feig clarifies that yes, the film is a reboot and not a sequel, and takes place in a world where humans are not aware that ghosts actually exist. The director calls his version “scarier and more hi-tech” than the original film. This seems like a red flag to me. The original wasn't scary was it? It was goddamn hilarious. This is like one of my favorite movies - no Bill Murray is bad enough, but this?

I wonder if by "famous" villains it means either CG ghost versions of historical "villains"(Hitler and the like) or if it will be like, weakened Gozer and Vigo. Given how things sound odds are its going to be the former.

It will almost definitely be things like Jack the Ripper and other old serial killers. It's a reboot so it won't be Ghostbusters villains.
dinklage was a great "villain" in xmen because he wasn't directly a villain, he just played the part well
he's just not a scary looking person, is he going to be a comic relief character? because that'll contradict the "serious" tone theyre trying to go with

Because he's "retired".
He basically does golf tours and does one or two indie projects a year and only works with people who will pretty much cater to his every whim, he doesn't give a shit about the movie industry anymore, or hanging out with his old SNL buddies, cause he has new golfy friends.
A reboot? I'm out.
Even Mad Max has a fourth film but takes the others into consideration. I can't just disregard the 2 Ghostbusters films.

Oh also an all ladies reboot just sounds dumb, not that women shouldn't be in it but it sounds more like a Charlie's angle movie instead of ghostbusters
Ghosts really aren't scary at all unless they're in the specific context of somebody trapped with them in an isolated location without the rest of society able to help you. Beyond that they're really just a joke. Can't see how this could go well at all.

I dislike when movies bill themselves as all women, where is there a workplace that is 100% women, the varied cast of the first was good for the time because it sort of grounded them, they could have been exterminators if you didn't see the sign. I'd rather a modern update instead of tight casting, have women and male actors play the group that sets up ghost busters, it can work they just aren't letting it. I don't think this is what Ramos was working on

I liked the 2012 Total Recall. Was it the same film? No. But then, it shouldn't have been. A new film with the same concept is a much more fresh approach to just a remake with different actors and a few different scenes.
To be fair, if he (Dinklage) is doing voice work then it would probably be really good. He's got a bloody good voice.

To be fair the same labels apply to the video game and that was great.
