Trivia

* Josh Dallas was supposed to return as Fandral but commitment with his TV show Once Upon a Time prevented him from returning. He was replaced with Zachary Levi who was the original choice for the role.
* Producer Kevin Feige stated the sequel would "take Thor literally to other worlds" and would "primarily be the journey of that character, of he and Jane Foster and how the new dynamic with his father is working out, as well as what are the broader stakes for The Nine Worlds".
* Feige also said that while the relationship between Loki and Thor certainly has changed [after the events of the movie The Avengers] and has progressed, a lot of the sequel picks up where it left off in terms of Jane, who you just saw for a moment on a computer monitor, and also what’s been going on in the nine realms without the Asgardians being able to use the Bifrost.
* Filming is scheduled to begin in August
* Kenneth Branagh could not commit to the sequel as he felt that it wasn't feasible for him to jump into another big budget movie so swiftly.
I enjoyed the first Thor, regardless of what people say. It was a good mindless super hero movie and I am looking forward to this. But what happened to the Asian guy in the warriors three? did he die, or did you just miss him in the OP?
Christopher Eccleston, woo
Don't expect Christopher Eccleston to appear in any Thor sequels. He doesn't "bathe in the same river twice". Won't go to Comic Con as he seems to think it's below him. He's a great actor but all round a random casting choice for a movie franchise.
Yes, I'm still bitter about him refusing to come back to Doctor Who next year. I'm sorry. I'm a sad nerd.
Ninth Doctor as ruler of the Dark Elves? Sounds pretty cool actually, even though Chris doesn't deal much with franchises.
Christopher Eccelston? I wonder if he'll take Thor into his Tardis :D
Can't wait for this, Thor was my favorite Avengers flick.

Whaaaat.
Grew up reading the comics and I love Norse mythology, so maybe I'm biased.

Don't worry! I'm sure he means pre-Avengers!

WHAT there was a chance of him returning? That would've been so great. Oh well I'll be happy to see him in something again.

Well yeah for big anniversaries the tradition is to bring back all The Doctors. But Chris flat out refuses while everybody else is open to it if the script is good.
Chris can be a piece of work, he never told any of the writers or crew he was leaving Doctor Who. They started writing Series 2 with him in mind and got pretty far before he decided to announce to the news that he was leaving. Marvel has so many binding contracts I wonder if he even realises what he's got himself into.

I don't get why people didn't like it. I found it a lot of fun. If not the best then the second best.
So no Balder the Brave? Thats a shame.
Though I do sort of like Malekith, I was looking forward to seeing Enchantress as the villain. If she was in the movie, i could easily see Catharine Zeta-Jones or Angelina Jolie playing her.

Ummm. This says differently?
First movie was good but it got boring. Like Titanic.
Hopefully a new director means less dutch angles.
Or as I like to call them, Batman and Robin angles.

Damnit Chris. I hope Marvel has him by the balls because I want to see him on the big screen. I've only seen him in Who and as that small role in 28 weeks later. I wish that faglord stayed as the Doctor for longer because the new series is what got me into Who so in my mind he's the first and most impactful Dr.

Pretty sure I heard he left Who because the staff were treating him like shit or something along those lines.
His time was way too short IMO, would've been great having Season 2 with him, and AFTER that 2 seasons of David Tennant
No Beta Ray Bill saddens me.

He hated the atmosphere or work environment of the place and apparently didn't get along with john barrowman. He's a very serious guy
Yeah he takes work pretty seriously. I can't imagine him being in Thor and getting on with everybody, they seem pretty silly and chilled out. Can you imagine him in Iron Man? Where it's mostly improvised and unorganised?

FANTASTIC.
I enjoyed the first Thor, regardless of what people say. It was a good mindless super hero movie and I am looking forward to this. But what happened to the Asian guy in the warriors three? did he die, or did you just miss him in the OP?
Really? I loved Thor, but I don't think it was mindless. Between Thor, Loki, and Odin, I found it to be a timeless tale of two brothers, the father with the plan who favors one, and the fight for his throne and his acceptance. The superhero stuff was extra for me. The Earth scenes weren't very exciting (though I did love "I LIKE IT! ANOTHER!") and I was always waiting for the next time we saw Asgard so that the three could interact more.
The first time I saw it, I didn't really understand the whole avengers connection, and I kinda just thought of it as a really good dramatic movie with some action sequences, didn't even realise it was presented as a super hero movie.
The first Thor movie had one of the best CGI in a movie I've ever seen. The way they did the bifrost and asgard was amazing.
eh i dunno. i watched thor a couple of days ago for the first time and asgard felt like the green lantern home world. just way too fake. the bits of asgard where there were actual set pieces were fine but the bits where they were near the gate were terrible, and it spinning looked really really bad.
thor wasn't a bad movie though. REALLY mindless. the motivations for loki were shit and didn't make sense most of the time, especially since his goals changed every 2 seconds.
I personally thought Asgard looked like shit.
(though I did love "I LIKE IT! ANOTHER!")
Anyone who says otherwise is probably lying.
The first Thor movie had one of the best CGI in a movie I've ever seen.
You should watch more movies.
I typically don't make a big deal about special effects and Thor didn't look bad or anything but nothing was really ground-breaking visually.
