One in four adults worldwide are "deeply infected with anti-Semitic attitudes," the Anti-Defamation League announced, in releasing results of an unprecedented global survey. Nearly half have never heard of the Holocaust, and only a third believe historical descriptions are accurate, the survey found. Carried out by First International Resources and commissioned by the Anti-Defamation League, the survey included 53,100 adults in 102 countries representing 88% of the world's adult population. In native languages, it asked people whether certain traditionally anti-Semitic statements are probably true or false, including that Jews have too much power over international markets, global media, and the U.S. government; that they "don't care about what happens to anyone but their own kind," and that "Jews are responsible for most of the world's wars." The survey then calculated how many believed that at least six of the 11 stereotypes were probably true. In the Middle East and North Africa, 74% did. In Eastern Europe, one in three did, and in Western Europe and sub-Saharan Africa, nearly one in four believed most of the stereotypes. Overall, 26% believed at least six of the stereotypes -- a figure representing an estimated 1.1 billion people. The most widely believed stereotype was that Jews are more loyal to Israel than to the countries in which they live. "For the first time we have a real sense of how pervasive and persistent anti-Semitism is today around the world," ADL National Director Abraham Foxman said in a statement. "The data from the Global 100 Index enables us to look beyond anti-Semitic incidents and rhetoric and quantify the prevalence of anti-Semitic attitudes across the globe. We can now identify hotspots, as well as countries and regions of the world where hatred of Jews is essentially nonexistent." In Laos, only 0.2% of the adult population holds anti-Semitic views, the survey found. Also at the bottom of the list were the Philippines, Sweden and the Netherlands. In the United States, 9% of respondents believed the majority of the stereotypes. The highest levels were found in the Palestinian territories at 93% and Iraq at 92%. Yemen, Algeria, Libya and Tunisia were next. In Asia, less than a quarter of respondents had heard of the Holocaust and believed historical accounts are accurate. In sub-Saharan Africa, that figured dropped to 12%; in the Middle East and North Africa, 8%. Three quarters of the people surveyed said they've never met a Jewish person.
http://www.cnn.com/2014/05/14/world/anti-semitism-global-survey/
The Palestinian territories comes as no surprise, I'm more surprised there are 7% of Palestinians who aren't anti-Semitic.
That's higher than Iran.
greece hates everyone
Several members of my family believes that the Jews control the media, are all incredibly wealthy, and apparently fall back on the Holocaust to guilt what they want out of people, so I'm not surprised at this finding.
Not really surprised considering how Israel has been shitting on Palestine these last years.
Not really surprised considering how Israel has been shitting on Palestine these last years.
this isn't an excuse to be anti-semitic though
whelp, i now know the complete list of countries that israel will accidently throw a missile at.
this isn't an excuse to be anti-semitic though
Anti-Semitism is a buzzword. Palestinians are Semitic just like Jews.
It's not a buzzword, it's just a misnomer.
whelp, i now know the complete list of countries that israel will accidently throw a missile at.
According to the samson option, everyone gets a nuke, no need to really bother guessing.
Not really surprised considering how Israel has been shitting on Palestine these last years.
Only dumb people judge individuals based on what the government of the country they are living in is doing.
this isn't an excuse to be anti-semitic though
Just because a man kills your son doesn't mean you have the right to kill him, but that doesn't mean we can't understand what position that person's motives. The same can be applied here. edit: While this is a rather poor example, for the Palestinians should really be hating the Israeli government rather than Jews themselves, I hope that you get my point.

Arabic is technically a semetic lanaguage, along with others. The term anti-semetic is therefore a misnomer.
Only dumb people judge individuals based on what the government of the country they are living in is doing.
Why aren't those individuals complicit? Other than children and people who dodged the draft and left the country, every other Israeli is or was in the IDF.
Okay, which three of the above posters are anti-Semites?
According to the samson option, everyone gets a nuke, no need to really bother guessing.
Well, everyone with nukes or is an enemy. So Iran, Syria, Pakistan, Russia, Germany, France, UK, etc. The idea of the Samson option is to trigger a nuclear war and force the nations of the world to wipe each other out. Because if Israel can't exist, then nobody can.
except the definition of anti-semitic is literally "hatred/prejudice towards jewish people". what does changing a commonly accepted term accomplish
Have you actually been reading what other people have been saying? It's a misnomer, and Palestinians are technically semetic as well. This is equivalent to if anti-Germanic meant hatred towards Norwegians, despite the fact that there are other Germanic peoples (English, Swedish, Dutch, Germans etc.)

Israel will literally fling nukes at every country just because they fucking can. That's more of a threat to all of us than North Korea with it's over the top antics. Israel's government is a threat to not only the human race, but to the survival of all life on this planet.
The ADL likes to subtly classify anything that is against Zionism as antisemitic. They have a massive political agenda and opposed the mosque a few blocks from ground zero (which contradicts their publicly-professed principles of anti-discrimination.)
Disagreeing or expressing displeasure that Jewry worldwide hold a huge amount of global wealth, and use it to forward primarily their own religious (or in some cases Zionist) agenda, and calling that statement anti-semetic is just propoganda. I have Jewish-convert relatives, and I've been to a few Saters, weddings, etc. As far as I can gather from the recitations, prayers, memoirs, Judaism consistently reinforces the ideology that Jewish people are selected by god, more important than other groups, and are justified in attaining a higher calling, whether it is through peace and enlightenment, or violence if "needed". Though there are some very good parts to judaism, just like any other religion, "its good if you take away the agenda".
Yeah, and that's fucking disgusting. Also it does include the U.S. as well by the way.
Can they even reach us? I don't doubt their capabilities, but I figured they'd focus closer to home where there's less chance of their rockets being shot down (plus more rockets in a smaller area, since they're not sending a couple dozen at us).

EDIT: I don't think it's probable in the sense of actually, physically carrying it out, but in the moral sense it's not something I doubt they'd do.
In native languages, it asked people whether certain traditionally anti-Semitic statements are probably true or false, including that Jews have too much power over... the U.S. government.
Well, considering that U.S. foreign policy is willing to bend over backwards for Israel... I think it would be kind of hard to deny that they have at least some political power over the U.S. when it comes to that. Then again, that's just the Israeli government. Israeli government =/= Jewish populace. Oh wow I just realized, there's no possible way to disagree with this article's viewpoint without coming across as an anti-semite is there? Those clever bastards.

This isn't some North Korean sea-diving missile system with a rigged dirty bomb warhead on it, this would be top of the line shit. Israel's essentially a militaristic theocracy. Plus even if a few missiles don't hit, once one nuclear missile is launched, every nuclear capable country in the world is going to be on the brink of nuclear war, regardless of being hit. Honestly, this is part of why I would really love for off-world colonies to be a thing ASAP. In this nuclear age, it takes only one massive cunt like Israel to set us back a few thousand years at best.
