Jesus christ that's freaky as hell
God damn is that sound so unsettling to hear.
It's even better with some cable providers (mine included). Instead of just overlaying the message on the screen, it basically just hijacks the signal to give a full screen message. Absolutely delightful late at night when they test it. [sp]/s[/sp]
Fuck me, the emergency alert system sound always creeps me the fuck out, and I never get creeped out. There's just something really eerie about knowing that a potentially huge disaster could occur shortly after hearing it.
Is this even real? If there's no context given how can we know this wasn't fabricated, let alone when exactly it happened. It's creepy as fuck if it's real but i'm skeptical.

I found another earlier hacked warning alert from two days ago.
Reminds me of the Wyoming Incident
What the fuck is this.
What the fuck is up with the Dr. Seuss lines?
What the fuck is this.
Some creepy ass ARG? I wouldn't honestly watch it.
Reminds me of the Wyoming Incident
I remember watching this a long time ago. It's so creepy and confusing. There's a high-pitched sound in the video that makes my head hurt.
What the fuck is this.
One of the very first ARGs. It spiraled out of control. Night Mind on YT has a very good analysis video of it.
What the fuck is this.
IIRC someone hijacked a broadcast to start an ARG. :ninja:
Yeeeeeah... i'm not going to buy "Technical Error" when you have "Would you. Could you. On a Train?" slide past. Like, a real emergency message wouldn't be so cryptic like it was written by the god damn Cheshire Cat or something. Well, sleeping's going to be fun tonight.
One of the very first ARGs. It spiraled out of control. Night Mind on YT has a very good analysis video of it.
Thanks for mentioning this. I am going to go check out the analysis. I never really looked too much into what the video was about; I only watched part of it a very long time ago and stopped it halfway through; it made my head hurt a lot.
Reminds me of the Wyoming Incident
Jesus Christ, "YOU WILL SEE PRETTY THINGS" already has me tearing up in fear.
In this clip, the frequency being played is somewhere between 17 and 19 hz. This range of frequency, when played for long periods of time, causes the eyes to subtly vibrate, sometimes inducing visual hallucinations.
:nope:

I mean, these are obviously not real, but how has no one put these up in this thread yet?
Here's a real hilarious broadcast screwup. “Jesus Christ, help us all, Lord. Fuck." On January 3, 2007 in Australia, during a broadcast of an episode of the Canadian television series Mayday on the Seven Network, an audio loop unexpectedly started playing, clearly saying in an American accent, “Jesus Christ, help us all, Lord.” This same voice message continued to repeat itself over and over during the show for a total of six minutes. A spokesman for Seven later denied that the transmission was a prank or a security breach and claimed that the repeated line was actually part of the original broadcast and said, “Jesus Christ one of the Nazarenes,” although there is hardly any similarity between the two phrases. Subsequent investigation by independent researchers revealed that the invading transmission was actually from a video taped news broadcast of a civilian truck being ambushed in Iraq. It remains unknown whether or not this was an intentional act of television piracy or a genuine glitch of some sort.
"Would you, could you, on a train?" I never thought one of these creepypasta-tier videos would actually become real
Reminds me of the Wyoming Incident
that was kinda entertaining, thank you
I found another earlier hacked warning alert from two days ago.
oh fuck me man, I need to know, what is the only hope of civilization? god damn why do hacked messages always conveniently run out of time just before the important bit

i love the EAS. i've been interested in it for years after researching it for a scene in something i was working on. i still wanna use it to this day, where it becomes the center stage after some big disaster, and everything just goes silent or something. i'm assuming there must be some sort of code that doesn't allow you to use that sound effect in your show for the sake of confusion for the real thing, so it's a shame more pieces of media don't use it.

When EAS is used in movies/TV shows/radio stuff etc. they make sure to use ones from tests, and to lower the audio to lower the risk of setting off equipment.

Yeah, I always knew about how the tones each had their own codes, which was why I was confused that I couldn't find any proper tones :v: Though the test one is terrifying in itself.
