It resembles Killzone soooo much.
Not gonna lie, this looks sick as fuck. Loving the sound design.
They also did this too

I hope the jet sequence isn't as on rails as the one in black ops 3.

Holy shit, that actually sounds interesting.
Are we sure this is really an Infinity Ward game? One hell of a step up from Ghosts, I guess the longer dev cycle's working out well.

Check the top of the screen. It's only on rails when the Autopilot status is [ON]. When it's [OFF], the player is controlling it.

"We want to create the illusion of a Mass Effect-style space ship, yet keep the story as linear as possible."
Getting big Homeworld vibes from the end, it's been a while since I've played a good space combat game.
the visual overload looks fun as hell, but I have SO many issues with the space flight battle, there was so much weird pulled-on-a-string motion going on with locking onto targets and when strafing around that cap ship at the end

Yeah the space combat looks boring as hell to be honest.
looks alright
what's with the enemy accents? i thought it was supposed to be a colonial rebellion, not US vs Russia in space
This time they're just straight up saying that the space communists (?) are evil.
That shotgun that adjusts it's spread to the shape of the target was pretty cool.
I liked the art and designs.
I sort of don't like the fact the guys literally said "a classic tale of good vs. evil." One reason I liked Killzone so much was that even though it made it look like a good vs. evil fight through aesthetics and pov, reading the lore and thinking about it some more can lead players to the conclusion that its a much more grey war than its initially depicted.

Then again I would take a well written good v evil story over a poorly written there's good and bad on each side story.

I do like that they're focusing on one character though, it'll make the narrative tighter which some of the later cods were lacking.

I guess it could be alt-history where the USSR sent cosmonauts farther than we did or something :v:
I ctrl+f'd for someone else saying this, but it does resemble Killzone in that the rifle used borrows the handguard design of the ZM LR300 (also featured in STALKER). Interesting, not sure if a nod to Killzone or just a coincidence.

Getting some real Neill Blomkamp vibes
I don't like how the main characters in this and BLOPS 3 don't wear helmets or any kind of headgear. I know they need to make them stick out from the generic soldiers, but still. At least give them a headset or something.
Some of the space combat reminded me of dogfight mode from Assault Horizon
Meh, looks okay. Definitely lacking a lot of the unique enemy types/ways to play that Black Ops 3 had. I really wish these games took a page from DOOM and added enemy variety with certain weakness/strength for each one.
Even the robots aren't cool this time around.
Huh, some of those guns remind me of the guns from Deus Ex: Human Revolution. Namely that rifle that reloads using a flat box that is inserted after the front half folds up, and the weird barrel/can reloady shotgun.
Looks quite pretty and I'm digging the aesthetic, but some things do have me worried.
The gameplay looks as boring and bland as ever, just shootin dudes and robots with minimal recoil. I don't like that you're still some super elite special forces dudes. I miss the your character actually answering the call of duty, not just being some trained killer badass. And of course the bad guys have eastern accents. Also still no footage of Kit Harrington's character.
I'll just watch a Let's Play unless they make the space ship segments real fun.

It would work if the story didn't take itself so seriously for once.

What gets me is that while the Helghast of Killzone were literally space nazis/communists, at the very least they were mostly black and gray with the red visor eyes for intimidation. Here the evil space communists literally painted their killer bots red for color-coordinated enemies, and red muzzle flash / bullet colors. Their generic troops are just.. flat-masked dudes in black and red. Not even anything distinguishing, they're just generic bad guy sci-fi soldiers that are at times hard to distinguish from your own men due to the desaturation.
It also seems to be suffering from the same problem Ghosts had: gimmicks for variety. Even Advanced Warfare and Black Ops 3 established core features and ability rules, but Ghosts just kept pulling some new trick out of its ass to keep player interest, resulting in things like the strobe light that was used for a grand total of one room despite the fact that it instantly sent the enemy into seizures, never mentioned again. While there's probably going to be more mileage out of things like the ship warfare and space combat here, I feel it's going to fall into the MW2 and beyond Infinity Ward trap of too much shit to solidify anything other than the core gameplay the series has recycled consistently since CoD2.
Looks good.
Space combat looks like shit though

Isn't this due to engine limitations on the IW engine?
Also, why are they still upgrading this old as hell engine as opposed to having a new one?

Not enough time?

not enough time and lets face it, it is still a decent selling formula that is the COD franchise, as much as we all would love to see a new engine, its a stab in the dark for IW since it means spending a lot of money for something that could either turn out to be completely shit or really good
