What a fitting response.
Isn't designating the genders/sexes with colors the opposite of being political correct?
Why don't they just split it down the middle.
I love the look on the male host's face when he's finished saying he doesn't understand it. It looks like he just wants to stand up and scream "Of course I understand it, everyone understands it, how dumb do our writers think I am?!"

pretty sure the guy meant it as in democrats being blue and republicans being red
i don't dig the design at all, looks really stupid.
why don't they just do away with the fucking genders if the bathroom is not meant for a specific gender and just put a toilet or a sink icon or a U for universal on it

I genuinely like the toilet idea, but it could paint unappealing pictures in peoples minds if they are eating at some restaurant or something. The sink, lil better.
but honestly i don't think you can go wrong with this:

A stick figure of an ambiguous gender.
Notice that smile.
Notice the black lines and the happy white face, welcoming of people of all races, black, white, and all shades inbetween.
Notice that there aren't and gender cues, no broad shoulders/penis signifying masculinity and no wide hips/breasts signifying femininity.
Consider the simplicity!
No more gender stereotyping (its a girl cause it has a dress/bow on it! Its a male cause it doesn't!)
How can anyone take offense to this?

The figure is thin as a line, implying that the rest room is only meant for skinny people. Be ashamed of yourself.

It also discriminates against people suffering from depression. I can't believe there is still so much discrimination going on in 2014, even in a rather progressive forum such as this one.

Obviously all the white around it can be interpreted as fat.
I find this is enforcing the misogyny in our childrens minds and the fact that males are on top in society, as the male body part is above the female body part.
I believe that the male body part should be below to express how we as females have triumphed our stereotypes and are slowly beating misogyny as a whole.
[editline]12th July 2014[/editline]
Also I believe this to be racist to us red people. Why is blue always ontop? I find this to be an extremely offensive racist statement to the world. Disgusting.

So I can't use the restroom because I'm white?
You racist!
The reporters are wearing colors that match the sign too.
I wouldn't have guessed it if not for that.

Fox News makes me (un)reasonably angry.
Why is this even newsworthy? They changed the name of a bathroom, big whoop.
[editline]a[/editline]
y'know what i remember a while back they literally just showed some videos of cute kittens so maybe this isn't so bad

Reactionaries must attack all progress.
I maybe wrong here but I don't get why its all gender, multigender, transgender as all they are going to do is piss people off.
Why not just call them "Bathrooms" or "Toilets"
and thats it!
Male, female, snowflake. Boom. Its all covered!
(I kid, I kid.)

Symbols is better. Not everyone can read English, but almost everyone will look at a picture of a toilet and go "Yep that's a shitter all right".

That's some good old fashioned pandering if I've ever seen any.
Man they sure make a great fuzz about men and women using the same toilet, shit isn't male or female.

It looks like it's telling you to shit in the ball receptacle ( I don't know what they're called) at a bowling alley.

True, but usually, when you're going somewhere that doesn't speak the same language as you, it's kind of necessary to learn some of the words and phrases that you'll need.
The most popular phrase being "Where is the bathroom".
