Yuichiro Miura, an 80-year-old adventurer, reached the summit of Mount Everest around noon Japan time on Thursday, becoming the oldest person ever to do so. I hope I'm doing that well if I ever make it to 80.
Holy shit this guy has to be the healthiest guy on earth to do this at 80
It reminds me of my grandma She's like, religious and shit, and a pretty sweet old lady. Bakes cookies, cakes, all that stereotypical old woman stuff. But oh man is she fucking fit. Outruns me AND my dad, in addition to being stronger than my uncle (Who is in fact a bodybuilder). I bet that she would be able to climb Mount Everest on an age of 100 (She's currently 68 years old)
Fellow Facepuncher rocket2guns just climbed Everest and he did't get in the Wall Street Journal...
Fellow Facepuncher rocket2guns just climbed Everest and he did't get in the Wall Street Journal...
Many people climb Everest, very few break records doing it.
And now I feel like a lazy fat slob. Its amazing how far medicine and good living practices have gotten us as a species.
I'll have to get healthy a year before I die to break this record.
About a day ago, Dean Hall (the DayZ developer) reached the Everest summit too: https://twitter.com/rocket2guns/status/337504909748469760 I'm getting this strange itch that tells me to go mountaineering.
Let's organize the first ever Facepunch Mount Everest Meetup [editline]23rd May 2013[/editline] BYOB tho
