Toronto Mayor Rob Ford, who admitted to once smoking crack cocaine while in a "drunken stupor", has filed re-election papers.
Putting his name on the ballot to run for another term, Mr Ford revealed his new campaign slogan: "Ford more years".
"I've got the strongest track record," he told journalists. "I've been the best mayor this city has ever had."
He is the sole candidate so far for the 27 October municipal election, but rivals are expected to challenge him.

"I've got the strongest track record," he told journalists.
I think he meant to say "strongest crack record".
the mans never seen a track in his life, lets be fair.
this cracks me up
Hah, after he said he wouldn't be running for re-election, too. If the guy was any more of a snake, he'd have a huge rattle jammed up his ass.
Free cocaine for everyone!
I'd vote for him.

He might very well have one.
[editline]3rd January 2014[/editline]
Being the party animal that he is
Regardless of his scandals, if he's the right man for the job why not?
Bill Clinton, anyone?
I like him.
I really don't think a man's past actions should haunt him professionally if it was in the past and he's not doing it again, or at least not doing it on the job.
I'm starting to see how people like Berlusconi get reelected.
I like him.

There are allegations that he drove drunk on more than one occasion during the day (i.e. during "business hours"). There are also multiple allegations of odd meetups with his best buddy Sandro Lisi during city business hours -- these meetups are probably drug deals, but we don't know for sure because for some reason Toronto police never once interrupted the encounters even though they were surveilling the both of them.
This man's bad behaviour extends beyond dallying with crack on his personal time and occasionally knocking over councillors.

But he's so zany!!!
aside from his whole crack ordeal, he was a decent mayor.
I guess he's really cracking on this politics game.
OROROR OR
Its like his political history hasn't had any cracks in it.

you'd have a point if he was good at actual mayoring but he sucks at that too
If he doesn't win it will be a worldwide tragedy on a level never before witnessed.
I'd vote for him again guys, do it. He's at least entertaining and when he fucks up he isn't good at hiding it like smarter corrupt officials.
cocaine is one helluva drug.
He does have a history, but hes not a terrible mayor, it could be worse

When?
He's ALWAYS said he'd run for re-election.

I stand corrected - I don't like him.
Allow me to remind everyone of Rob Ford's greatest hits. I'm only grabbing ones that are fairly easy to capture on video, as well; there've been he-said-she-said allegations of drunken disorderly behaviour, some with multiple independent witnesses, as well as a number of other stories and allegations of bad behaviour.

Rob Ford drunk alone in public with his car. Claims he wasn't driving and someone else would be with him. Hmmmm.

Just listen to the scrum of reporters after Ford leaves.

"Mr. Mayor, have you purchased illegal drugs in the last two years?"
[8 seconds pass]
"Yes, I have."

"I am a sick motherfucker, dude."

Rob Ford, getting a few fundamental facts wrong about his own plan to counter the proposed LRT expansion
I'm not a Toronto resident, and I'm less up to speed on Ford's political moves before the crack scandal (because I wasn't paying as much attention to Toronto politics, being on the other side of the country), but he wasn't universally beloved for his great decision-making skills before he suddenly turned up on iPhones with a crack pipe.
And, although this is not directly about Rob Ford himself, it's worth giving big brother and Councillor Doug Ford a mention. Hi, Doug.

Oh.
I'm not going to embed this one because I'm already bordering on needing to take this post to the Videos subforum, but here's a 24-minute compilation of the best of Rob. It's worth watching for at least the second clip (the first is just him getting a bucket of Gatorade dumped on him by his football team after the game -- it's funny but not relevant to his politics) where he and a friend just turn into 13-year-olds at the flip of a switch.
I thought the eating pussy comment was pretty hilarious personally
